Having a fashion moment – Margot Robbie
There are a few style icons who I think rarely put a fashion foot wrong. Alexa Chung is one, the two Kate’s, Moss and Middleton, are two others, and I would also add Jessica Alba, Harley Veira Newton and Laura Bailey to my list. And now I think there is another lady who seems to always look stylish and fabulous, although I’m guessing being a tall, leggy and totally gorgeous blonde helps. I’m talking about Margot Robbie, the Australian actress who started in Neighbours and then progressed to a starmaking turn in ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’. More recently she has been wowing audiences as Jane in the latest Tarzan movie. Margot has Hollywood at her feet, and is showing serious style credentials on the red carpet, and in her own casual attire.
I love her use of the colour white, which just looks incredible on her tanned skin. Think Sharon Stone in that scene in Basic Instinct, head to toe white, looking like a golden goddess. Her heels can only be described as the kind that could make you feel scared of heights and suffer from vertigo, but she looks just as good with mannish brogues, or casual gladiator sandals. And she has unexpected touches that she adds to her wardrobe, from chinoiserie style dresses with a dash of fur on the cuffs, to long pink duster jackets in silk to cover a little black dress.
As a counterpoint to her love of white outfits is her affiliation with the little black dress, which she wears to perfection, making it a summer staple in her look. Black dresses can be a controversial choice in Summer, but Margot proves they can be gothically glamorous, especially when teamed with a very smokey eye and sexy heeled sandals.
Quirky, original, a real life surfer girl with a seriously stylish look, Margot is someone whose wardrobe I just love to watch and admire.
