Kim Kardashian and Vera Wang – a marriage made in fashion heaven.

Following the royal brides (Kate, Zara and Charlene), the rock royalty brides (Kate, Lily), the film royalty brides(Reese), we now await the reality tv royalty bride, the very beautiful Kim Kardashian. Kim is plighting her troth on Saturday to her beau, New Jersey Nets star Kris Humphries. And who else would America’s top reality tv star choose to  create her dress but the true queen of bridal couture Vera Wang?

Kim is one of the most beautiful women on TV at the moment, and there is no doubt she will make a stunning bride. But what sort of dress will she plump for? Could we look for clues in the dresses that Vera has created for other celebrity brides, including sister Khloe? Will Kim plump for a full skirt, or a fishtail skirt that would totally accentuate those curves. Vera is known for strapless designs, she used these in the dresses she designed for Victoria Beckham, Jessica Simpson, Alyssa Milano and Chelsea Clinton amongst others, so maybe Kim Will plump for this style.

So, Kim could go down what could be seen as the traditional Vera Wang route in a strapless dress with a  full skirt. But wedding dresses in 2011 have seen a move towards vintage styles that ark back to our marital past. Kate Middleton‘s dress was an echo of the dresses worn by Princess Margaret and Grace Kelly, whilst Lily Allen and Kate Moss looked to the 1920s for inspiration, particularly for their veils. Full,  lace sleeves are also becoming popular as they add princess elegance to the occasion. Vera Wang has been known to channel that particular kind of elegance, just look at the beautiful dresses she designed for Ivanka Trump and Jennifer Lopez.

I would love to see Kim step away from the traditional Ver Wang mode and wear something elegant. Fashion Police star Guilliana Rancic says that she likes to see Kim dressed like a ‘hoochie’, but I think it would be wonderful if Kim stepped outside her image for her big day.
