Miami Vice style in a Pink Crepe Blazer from New Look
The hunt for a perfect pink jacket has been continuing at pace. I totally loved the F&F 60s style, which just looked so pretty over a dress (you can revisit that one here), but I was longing to find something that could be less formal, more at home with jeans, especially now we seem to be firmly entrenched in jacket weather. This gorgeous little number I was sent by New Look Inspire seems to fit the bill.
The Inspire Dark Pink Crepe Blazer from New Look takes its style cues from the 1980s, in particular it reminded me of the super cool style of Crockett and Tubbs from Miami Vice. Buttonless, with an elongated collar that gave a nod to tuxedo style jackets, this jacket feels soft, with a lovely lining that gives it a touch of luxury.
The jacket is generous in its sizing, it has a slightly oversized, slouchy quality which I love – this isn’t the jacket for you if you want something fitted. It will be great with jeans and tapered trousers, and could be worn over a dress if you want that effortlessly cool effect of wearing a tux over an evening dress. The jacket also has pockets – always worth another 10 points in my scoring system!
I wore this jacket styled smart casually (I hate that phrase, but it does seem to fit wearing your best jeans, snazzy flats and a silky top). The top (from F&F) was in a charcoal grey shade that contrasted nicely against the vibrant pink of the jacket, whilst I do think indigo denim is the best shade to wear with hot pink. The silver shoes are my current faves, I love shoes with pointed toes at the minute, and I do think a flat shoe is perfect when the weather is a bit unfathomable. These flats were from F&F, but I have my eye on a lust have purchase pair from Marc by Marc Jacobs at the moment.
I totally love this jacket. There isn’t a single thing that I could pick out as not liking about it, the style, cut, and, of course, the colour are all perfect for me, and I know I will wear this again and again.
If pink isn’t your colour, New Look inspire has a whole range of lovely jackets, as does the main New Look collection. Here are a few more choice picks.

It looks fab (and so do all the other jackets). It got me thinking about finding a jacket to go with my dress for the MAD Blog Awards, in case it’s a bit chilly! Going to have a closer look at New Look now.
