New Look S/S Press Preview – All about the Jewels

The New Look press days are always great fun, with rails and rails of items your wardrobe is just crying out for, but at the Spring/Summer Press day held last week, it was the accessories that really had me gasping, and in particular, the jewellery.

In recent seasons New Look have really set the bar high in terms of highly desirable costume jewellery that comes with a very reasonable price tag. The Spring/Summer collection is just stuffed with real statement pieces, gorgeous necklaces designed to jazz up any outfit, statement earrings that Beyoncé would just kill for and bracelets and earrings that were designed for every occasion, from High Tea to Ibiza.

I loved the use of pretty coloured stones and beads, in both pastel and neon shades, that just added a zingy pop of colour to the pieces. And there were also nods to the Art Deco trends in the use of black and gold, and geometric shapes.

Another really great feature of the New Look S/S 2013 collection are the fabulous range of bags. There were some really great designs, including the girl clutch that could come straight from a Philip Lim collection. The use of coral is just mouth-watering and oh so pretty, but my favourite bag is the vintage, 1950s style box bag/mini suitcase style.
