Reviewed – Curvissa Print Maxi Dress
Curvissa has recently launched its high summer collection, full of perfect pieces for vacations and stay-cations, and I was lucky enough to be asked if I would be interested in reviewing one of the pieces. I chose the gorgeous print maxi dress which I believe is the summer dress that my wardrobe needed.
The print maxi dress is made from a lovely stretchy jersey fabric that makes it comfortable to wear everyday. The print is a vibrant mixture of red, blue and white in a sort of patchwork pattern that gives the dress the feel of a classic 1970s sundress, with the detachable straps making this a great option for both getting, and showing off a holiday suntan. The bust area is stretchy and elasticated, and is surprisingly roomy, even for a larger bust, and the general feel you get from this dress is that this is something that you could definitely pack for a sun dripped holiday, even more so as it wouldn’t crease in the case.
I really like this dress. The length is perfect for me at 5ft 7, meaning I could wear this with white pumps. I like the removable strap option, although I do wish the straps were further across my shoulders. However, the straps being closer to the neck means that these could be tied to make a halter neck option which gives the dress another look. The elasticated bodice gives the dress shape and also keeps it from falling down. And I truly love the colours in it, very vibrant and bright for a summer dress rather than the usual pastel shades.
I styled this dress with red patent pumps that picked out the main colour of the dress. A denim jacket was added, with gold accessories in the form of earrings and a vintage brooch found in a junk shop in Bala. I wore this outfit for a shopping trip and lunch out and felt both smart, but also not overly dressed up. This is a great dress for nice days out – at the seaside, at the shopping centre, or just a walk in the sun.
