Silver & Grey Glamour At Dorothy Perkins
In the 1990s, there was no more glamorous couple than Johnny Depp and Kate Moss. I’m mentioning this because, this season, one of Kate’s most memorable early red carpet looks, from her time with Depp, is a key style inspiration. The simple grey shift dress was elegant, chic and remains totally timeless, and this Autumn the grey shade that totally made the dress is going to be a new style crush (along with silver shades) when it comes to a little bit of evening glamour.
Grey is most definitely the new black. It has always had a place in the wardrobe as part of a workwear suit. Most of us do own a grey cardigan or jumper – and usually team it with black no doubt. But grey can also be a really slinky and glamorous evening choice. I have added a few gorgeous looks from style icons who have worn silvery shades of grey on the red carpet, and for other evening occasions, and they look just amazing. If you needed any further convincing that grey could work as evening wear, this is definitely it.
Silver/grey inspiration
Dorothy Perkins has some brilliant pieces in their new in section that are just lovely if you decide to silver and grey gorgeousness to your Autumn wardrobe. Key pick must be the High Neck Silver Maxi dress – Marlene Dietrich 60s cabaret style combined with Rihanna’s 21st century magic.

Do you wear a lot of silver or grey? Will you be adding any pieces for next season?

Love the silver cardigan and midi dress. I definitely agree that grey is the new black. I have so much black, so ‘spicing’ it up a bit with some grey is definitely on the cards!!

Love the colour of the culotte jumpsuit and the Little Mistress dress is so elegant too. I have never thought of the transitional value of grey from work to glam so thank you for sharing.

I too love greys and silver! Although instead of the clothes, I think I’m changing my hair from turquoise to silver for the winter. Ice queen style! Love these Dorothy Perkins pieces that you chose.

I love the silvery shades! Dorothy Perkins has some GORGEOUS pieces, you found some really pretty things! I like this colour so much as an alternative to black, the silvery will be so festive and pretty in the colder months 🙂

I love a bit of grey, I’m quite pale and black make me look a bit like a goth so grey is the next best thing for me 🙂
