Style Focus – Adele
I don’t mind admitting that I’m a little obsessed with Adele at the moment. Hello is an absolute belter of a song, one I keep singing in my kitchen. (Well, at least attempting to sing, I’m more Oh! hell than Adele.) She’s breaking records left, right and centre, and seems to be totally comfortable in her own skin. And, she does all that and looks totally incredible, a complete icon of beauty and style. As I said, I’m obsessed.
I honestly believe that if Adele wasn’t plus size, all those titles and comments about being the most beautiful woman in the world would be directed in her direction. As it is, she is a total poster girl for the fact that beauty does not have to mean size eight and skinny, but can be a completely different package altogether. And her style, shining in the likes of British designers like Jenny Packham (as she did on the Graham Norton show) is impeccable. She has taken all the best bits of retro 1960s glamour and beauty, the big hair a la Nancy Sinatra, the thick lashes a la Claudia Cardinale, and have turned this into 21st style.
I love the fact she, like an early Angelina Jolie, favours black above all other colours. You get the feeling that this has nothing to do with it being ‘flattering’, and everything to do with the fact that it is dramatic, and looks amazing against her glorious red hair. Off duty, she is effortlessy chic, making choices that combine the practical with the drop dead gorgeous. She is, quite simply, a goddess, and literally makes all the other ‘pop’ poppets look a little bit obvious and trying too hard. If you need any further evidence, just check out the gallery of photographs below. She is utter perfection and a super talent too.

I absolutely love Adele and think her style is so classic. Really love her signature black frock look! xo

I have my own Adele story. I saw her perform about five years ago at the Indigo in London. The PA system failed. She simply put the microphone to one side and continued to sing with no amplification. Not just a beautiful woman, but also very talented!

Adele is such a British icon and her style is always on point!

I’m not a massive fan of her music personally but she is beautiful and as you said real proof that beauty comes in a number of different packages x
