Style Icons 2014 – Kiera Knightley
I love Kiera Knightley. She has such an incredible sense of style and was absolutely top of the list when it came to looking at style icons who have impressed and truly made their mark in 2014. Kiera is always impeccable, from head to toe, and I love the fact that she often opts for looks that are incredibly demure – a real stand out in our days of skin and beads looks from the likes of Rihanna and Miley.
In a similar way to Felicity Jones who I wrote about yesterday, Kiera often takes her cues from styles and icons from the past. Bias cut satin dresses look slinky on her petite frame, whilst she has embraced everything from antique lace looks to a fur edged dress that has that Santa Baby feel. Black and white feature heavily in her wardrobe, but she mixes it up with navy (always a great alternative to black), and a smattering of colour.
I love the use of long sleeves, and demure length skirts. In some ways she reminds me of the Duchess of Cambridge in her elegance, and the preference of that elegance over overt sexiness.
Kiera stole all our hearts with the fabulous wedding dress (there’s a post about that here if you’ve forgotten) that just happened to be a favourite frock that she had already worn. This year, she has continued to steal hearts with her beautiful stylish looks. A definite, modern day Audrey Hepburn.

She is an amazing style icon and just manages to pull off any outfit, I absolutely love the black lace dress!

Oh I adore her style, I’ve long loved her and my husband says she reminds him of me (apparently we’re both quite goofy like and different). I think her styles definitely got more glamourous and almost motherly in a good way especially since her pregnancy announcement and wedding eh.

Oh I think she is gorgeous, such a timeless beauty, but seriously, what was she thinking with that first dress? lol

Elegance is far superior to any other style in my opinion, and the outfits you’ve shown are beautiful. One thing that strikes me is the height of her heels. She must be a tiny lady–something we don’t notice on the screen.
