Summer Style At Cotton Traders
We are in the depths of what is proving to be a pretty awful Summer weather wise, but that doesn’t mean we don’t need to embrace Summer dressing. It may not be sunny, but it is still warm, often unbearably muggy, so dressing still calls for cool fabrics that help you keep your cool, even as it pours down.
Cotton Traders have really pushed it out of the park this Summer when it comes to classic Summer dressing. Their Jasmine Harmon edit was chocked full of exceptionally pretty pieces perfect for ‘A Place in the Sun’ and now their late Summer edit is all about embracing cotton, that most cool and stylish of fabrics.
I have chose my favourite pieces of the current edit at Cotton Traders, these are pieces that I love and would wear and wear again.
Floral Embroidered Crinkle Top
The floral embroidered crinkle top, which comes in three beautiful colourways, is just the prettiest top you will wear this Summer. It is also one of the most versatile, looking great teamed with shorts, with light coloured jeans, or, as I am wearing it, with a boho maxi skirt.
This top is in a beautiful crinkle styled cotton, and is long enough to wear it tucked in with a french tuck, or left loose for a more boho style. It is very flattering, with a V-shaped notch neckline that is not revealing, but makes this feel very comfortable. The delicate floral embroidery to the front are super pretty, particularly in the vibrant pink shade, whilst there is also more detail on the short raglan sleeves which have lace trims.
This is one of the most popular pieces on the Cotton Traders website and it is easy to see why. As Cotton Traders say,
it’s a stylish take on a light and airy staple.

The Broderie Dress
Broderie Anglais is one of the loveliest of Summer staples, and Cotton Traders Broderie dress is just beautiful. It is fully lined, which is brilliant, particularly for the white version which could easily be see thru, and has an adjustable tie waistband so you can choose to wear this loose, or synched in for a more fitted look.
It is the Holy Grail of dresses as it has pockets, which is always a winner in my eyes, and it also has cute side splits on the skirt. It is a button thru design, so you can choose just how much cleavage you have on display, or whether you want to wear a pretty camisole underneath and let it show through.
The colour is described as white, but the broderie design is most definitely lilac which I think is absolutely stunning. I wore this dress with sandals for a book signing on a rather hot day, and can definitely confirm it was very cool to wear. I also think it would look great with heels for a more dressy look, or teamed with a denim jacket and trainers on cooler days.
