It is almost here. The most anticipated film for both movie buffs and fashionista’s is set to be launched at the Cannes Film festival. And from stills already released, we know that we are in for a treat. The Great Gatsby has been made into a film on at least two occasions, in 1949 with Betty Field and Alan Ladd, and a fashionably iconic but ultimately disappointing 1970s version with Mia Farrow and Robert Redford as the ill fated lovers Daisy Buchanan and Jay Gatsby. Downton Bows out – Now steal the flapper look
The current series of Downton Abbey came to an end last night. This series had been set in the decade known as the roaring 20s and had allowed flapper fashions to light up our Sunday evenings. The looser styles, drop waisted cuts and a mixture of both deep shades and nude peaches and creams had shown that the style of the 1920s can fit all moods and occasions. Maybe that is why there are so many 1920s style dresses available this Christmas.
