Thursday saw the great and good of the Midlands, footballers, models, bloggers and celebrities descend on the luxurious Harvey Nichols store in the Mailbox, Birmingham to celebrate Vogue‘s Fashion’s Night Out, and the launch of the fabulous Autumn/Winter designer collections. The store was packed with a host of well dressed guests who were able to enjoy a pre-show champagne reception and a sneak preview of the new Land Rover Evoque, which was parked majestically on the Mailbox steps. Land Rover were the sponsors of the event, and there was a special Land Rover treat included in the special goodie bags placed under each seat. A sparkling atmosphere was in the…

Kate the Great…and for once I don’t mean Middleton!
According to all reports, this week has seen the double Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet turning into a super hero. Kate helped to clear the house of all the people present, and apparently helped save Richard Branson’s ninety-year old mother. I frankly adore Kate. She’s an amazing, luminous actress with talent in spades. She’s beautiful, but in a natural, rather than over glossed way. And I totally adore her personal style. So, in tribute to Kate, who has just added Super-hero to that already impressive resume, here are some of my favourite…

Kate comes to Birmingham..and again wears McQueen.
Charles and Camilla visited London areas devastated by the riots, Prince Harry went to Manchester, but today Birmingham got the big guns, the ones we all want to see, when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, aka William and Kate, visited areas affected by the riots last week. And Kate, as usual, looked amazing. Wearing Alexander McQueen, which seems to have become her design house of choice since the Royal wedding, Kate struck the right chord in looking stylish, but respectful in her dress. Royals rarely wear black, but as a private audience with the families of the three men so tragically killed whilst defending their community was part of the…

Kate’s dress is on show – but Queen calls display horrid!
The press got their first view of the Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding dress today when the Sarah Burton design went on display in the Ballroom of Buckingham Palace, but although the beauty of the dress and the rest of display pleased most spectators, it seems the Queen wasn’t particularly pleased, calling the staging of the dress ‘Horrid’ . The dress has been displayed on a headless mannequin, with the veil and Halo tiara sort of suspended in space, which the Queen expressed as being creepy! Kate, who was viewing the dress with the Queen was more tactful, saying it was displayed to show a 3D effect. Kate looked fabulous…
