My favourite looks from the Tony Awards

Last night saw the ‘Antoinette Perry Award for Excellence in Theatre’. Of course, you probably know them as the Tony Awards, which recognise achievement in live Broadway theatre. This year it was a very glamorous affair, with British interests well rewarded with a best actress award for Helen Mirren for ‘The Audience’ (playing The Queen is definitely lucky for Helen, after an Oscar for The Queen.) Young British actor Alex Sharp was also awarded for his role in one of my favourite plays ‘The Curious Incident of the dog in the night-time’. There was some seriously, jaw-droppingly gorgeous looks on display, with Jennifer Lopez in particular, moving away from the…

Toronto Film Festival – Best Looks

The Toronto film festival is one of those that often falls off my radar, but not this year. It seems that every day I have been gasping over one celebrity outfit or another. To put it quite simply, some of Hollywood’s finest are in Canada promoting upcoming films, and pulling all the stops out when it comes to choosing their outfits. Kiera Knightley has been on a roll, wearing one stunning dress after another. I’ve chosen a couple of my favourites here, but every single dress has been just beautiful. Another Brit girl, Felicity Jones, continues to show why I mentioned her as one to watch stylewise. With a nod…

    Style Focus – Samantha Barks

She has certainly been one of the breakout stars of 2013. With a stunning performance as Eponine in the movie version of Les Miserables, Samantha Barks has ensured that she is one to watch.Sam’s role in Les Miserables followed on from her acclaimed performance in the stage version, which continues to be a huge hit with fans (you can get information about Les Miserables tickets available from Big Ticket Shop UK if you fancy watching the live stage version). Samantha has also started to garner column inches for her impeccable fashion sense and a hot romance with male model de jour David Gandy. Not bad for a girl who finished…

The SAG Awards – Pick of the dresses

And the awards bandwagon rolls on. This time it was the SAG awards, which, traditionally, is a slightly more dressed down affair than the Golden Globes and The Oscars. On this occasion though, there were some really nice dresses, although nothing that would actually make you gasp. Very bright or black and white seemed to be the order of the night, although there were some notable additions of sparkle from Helen Hunt and a sizzling Naomi Watts. Here are some of the key trends, the style winners and losers from a glamorous night. Glamorous Sparkle Naomi Watts was a definite contender for best dressed. Wearing a silver strapless sheath from…

Best Dressed – Critics Choice Awards

Another day, another awards ceremony. This time it was the Critics Choice Awards. Amanda Seyfried, Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard and Jessica Chastain were just some of the Hollywood superstars who shoved on their finest dress and got those elbows flexed to fight it out in the acting (and fashion) stakes. As I’ve already mentioned, I get very excited about the awards season, as this is where we really get to see if all those wonderful dresses we admired so much on the catwalk actually convert into red carpet dressing. (The rule is that some do perfectly, whilst many others really need to go back to the drawing board.) Here are…
