A Christmas letter from the Lapland Mailroom
My little boy Joe was unwell today and didn’t go to school. So whilst we were tucked up under blankets on the sofa, we thought this was an ideal opportunity for Joe to write his letter to Santa. Joe was really excited about this, he had been formulating a list for some time now, and he is also beginning to really enjoy writing too. We had picked up a Santa letter writing kit from The Works, and had a lovely time putting together sentences about ‘Star Wars’ toys and Playmobil Castles, and dragons. Now, what Joe doesn’t know is that I already have a reply from Santa sitting in the…

A trip to Cadbury World
Cadbury World is undoubtedly one of the Midlands biggest tourist attractions, and one which each year seems to go from strength to strength. Truly an attraction that has something to interest all ages, this season there has been the added interest of the Cadbury World 4d chocolate adventure which was launched in June, as well as the welcome visit of Zippy and George from Rainbow. Last Sunday, my family went along to enjoy a chocolate filled day at Cadbury World, and, as I sit here enjoying a Dairy Milk, I thought I would share our thoughts with you. Entry to Cadbury world is by time slot tickets, this means that…

Celebrating Left Handers Day
Next week, on the 13th August, people all across the Country taking part in National Left Handers Day, a celebration of being left handed, but also a recognition of some of the difficulties that left handed people face every single day. These days, we dismiss the chosen hand as merely a quirk of nature, something in our brains that makes the choice. But in the past being a left hander was thought to be somewhat ‘sinister’ (just check out the Italian word for left), and these days left handers still face lots of difficulties living in a right-handed world. As an ex-teacher, I always made sure I had left handed…

Moshi Monsters Weekend at The Sea Life Centre
One of my family’s favourite, all-weather attractions to visit in Birmingham is the National Sea Life Centre in Brindley Place. Home to all manner of deep-sea creatures, from Sharks to Stingrays, and all sorts of truly beautiful and unusual fish, the Sea Life Centre is the ideal place to add to your Summer Holiday must visit list, offering education and a whole lot of fun. This Summer the attraction is even more exciting due to the arrival of the Moshi Monsters. Katsuma, Poppet and Monstro City’s number one Moshling conservationist, Buster Bumblechops, are on a mission to save the amazing marine creatures that are housed in the Sea Life Centre,…

Thank you teacher from Guylian
With the end of the school year almost upon us, it is time to say a big thank you to the teachers that have looked after our little ones during their school day. For most of us, this means choosing a special gift on behalf of our child, but as they get a little older and more independent, children often want to choose and buy a present with their own money. With that in mind, the World’s foremost Belgian Chocolatiers, Guylian, (those of the gorgeous praline seashells) have launched a special campaign called ‘Thank you teacher’. Their chocolates are a perfect gift for showing your appreciation of a special teacher,…
