I was asked to speak on my local Radio station,BBC Radio WM, yesterday, about our Queen. In particular, I was asked to speak about her style, her designers and her clothes. Because, although she may not be the name you immediately think of when discussing stylish royals, the Queen is undoubtedly one very stylish lady, perfectly able to set trends, and one whose 1950s wardrobe was full of the most beautiful outfits that continue to inspire today. Kate and Diana – A tale of two dresses.
This month sees the auctioning off of two very different black dresses. The first dress could be said to have seen the start of a Royal love story, the 2nd a perfect replica of a dress that signified the end of one. Victoria Beckham is now a long way away from her Spice Girl incarnation, and with her latest collection unveiled at New York fashion week, and huge waiting lists for her bags, she has finally been accepted as a talented designer who is here to stay.
