In amongst the sea of sales we are currently drowning in, there are still some fab new collections hitting stores at the present time. One of the nicest (in my humble opinion) is the Mid Century Muse collection from Dorothy Perkins. Taking inspiration from the 1950s and 60s (hence the rather lovely name), the Mid Century Muse range harks back to more ladylike times, when we took our style cues from the likes of Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn, The Queen and Jackie Kennedy. Dorothy Perkins – Pretty Pastels and floral prints
Spring/Summer fashion has just gone all girlish and pretty on us with the latest drops at Dorothy Perkins. Pastel shades and floral prints are dominating the designs, giving a real feel of all things ‘Summer’ – garden parties, sorbet ice cream and pretty seasonal blooms, with a dash of blue skies and sunshine yellow scattered throughout. This is an over-whelmingly feminine collection, full of ladylike, full skirts and maxi length dresses. Duchess Kate wears Prabal Gurung in Singapore
Just a day after I said that Prabal Gurung was perfect for Kate Middleton, she only goes and wears the designer during the first day of the tour of the Far Eat. Kate chose to wear the Singaporean designer during the stop in Singapore, a beautiful purple flowered design in Prabal’s classic long sleeved shape. Kate now joins the stylish ranks of Prabal fans that include Sarah Jessica Parker, Mila Kunis and Lana Del Rey. I love that Kate, who doesn’t have a stylist, does her research and pays tribute to the places she visits by wearing a homegrown designer.
