Brave the rain with cute rain boots
After a lovely dry Summer, and a fairly mild Autumn, it is safe to say that the rain has made an unwelcome appearance, making the school run a rather wet and uncomfortable experience. I live in a semi-rural area, where drains are prone to overflow, pavements are often covered in deep puddles, and the grassy verges turn to mud very quickly. In these situations, fashion goes out of the window, and I turn to the wellies. However, these days turning to Wellington’s doesn’t actually mean turning away from fashion and style. There are lots of really cute rain boots around, many of which can be found on a site called,…

Friday Fashion – My Joules Summer Wishlist
I’m a huge fan of British brand Joules, which is celebrating its 25th birthday this year. The sort of Countryside chic, with elements of Land Girl style that Joules embodies, appeals to my sense of style. For me, Joules says Louella, Stella Tennent, The Queen at Sandringham in wellies and a headscarf, all mixed in with a bit of mud-soaked festival cool. Joules is typically British, and I love it for this. The current ranges are just gorgeous, so I have compiled a wish list of Joules items that I would love to have in my wardrobe this Summer. There are quirky printed summer dresses, including the Adrienne dress which…

English Heritage inspiration from Joules
One of my favourite fashion trends of all time is the English heritage trend. Role models as diverse as The Queen and Debo, Duchess of Devonshire have been at the forefront of this particular trend since their youth, and the mantle has been passed on to Stella Tennant, Luella Bartley and Kate Moss. Films like The Edge of Love have also made English Heritage part of their charm. And this season, it is Joules that has created the perfect English Heritage collection. The English Heritage look is a design classic. It taps into the slightly disheveled look of the aristocracy off duty. Pretty printed tea dresses teamed with chunky Arran…

Reviewed – Joules Milford Boys Quilted Jacket
I was recently approached by Elfin Childrenswear to see if I would be interested in reviewing a product from their impressive range of children’s clothes. I was certainly intrigued to find out more about the company, having never heard of it before, and was interested to browse through the range to see what I would find, particularly to suit an already fashion aware 4-year-old. Elfin is one of the leading children’s wear stockists in the North East, having been established in 2001. It stocks high quality children’s clothing from names like Levis, Kenzo, Timberland and Joules. These are the sort of clothes that look great and wear well, and are…

Creating A Wardrobe For Children – Cheap or Designer?
When it comes to dressing the little ones, sometimes it can be hard to know what to purchase. Do you opt for something cheap and cheerful or something that is more expensive and fashionable? Many parents are divided on the topic of childrenswear and whether or not you should splash the cash or save the pennies. We all want the very best for our children, so why should we dress them in cheap clothing? But then again, little ones can quickly grow out of their clothing which means those expensive pieces may only get worn a couple of times. So which is the better option when it comes to dressing…
