My week with Marilyn
I’ve been a Marilyn Monroe fan for as long as I can remember. Her sheer glamour, loveable persona and that beautiful face and figure made her my key beauty icon whilst I was growing up. Add in her tumultuous love life and mysterious death and you get one of the most fascinating personalities of the 20th century. But even with all these key ingredients, making a good film about this Icon has been difficult. The best portrayal was by Catherine Hicks in the 1980 film, Marilyn – The Untold Story. She managed to portray the vulnerability of Marilyn, but the film itself was dire. But now we may just have…

Carnaby Street and Grazia Fashion Party
Last Thursday Fashion-Mommy enjoyed a lovely evening at the Carnaby Street fashion party, held in collaboration with Grazia magazine. For one special night only, shoppers were treated to 20% discount at all Carnaby Street stores, whilst being treated to gorgeous mulled cider at the White Horse pop-up bar in Kingly Court. There were other treats to enjoy. There were complimentary make overs at Illamasqua, whilst a traditional barber was on hand to treat the boys at Ben Sherman. There were also opportunities to take part in photo shoots at Revival, and funny seaside style shoots at David and Goliath…you can see the result of that below! And of course, with…

Duchess Kate turns on the Grecian glamour in silver.
Last night saw Kate Middleton wearing an exquisite, one sleeved, silver evening gown by Jenny Packham as she co-hosted a dinner to raise funds for the National Memorial Arboretum Appeal. The stunning Grecian style gown, with one loose sleeve and a tie waisted belt, was a departure for Kate in terms of colour and style. Jenny Packham is a real really good choice for Kate with her classic, elegant evening wear, and this dress was just so beautiful, with the metallic tone really suiting Kate’s colouring. Kate’s dress is long and flowing, and I can’t find it on the Jenny Packham website, but there is a shorter version that looks very similar…

The Duchess of Cambridge wows in Amanda Wakeley.
One word – WOW! The Duchess of Cambridge looked absolutely exquisite last night when she carried out her first solo official engagement, standing in for Prince Charles at a charity event. Wearing a 1930s style bias cut white/silver evening gown by Amanda Wakeley, Kate had movie star glamour and elegance. The dress was more revealing than Kate has worn for evening engagements since the Royal Wedding, showing off slim toned arms and shoulders. This is not the first time Kate has turned to Amanda Wakeley for an evening event, wearing the salmon pink and silver gown for the Ark event in June, and it seems that the designer and Kate…

Made in Chelsea – Caggie Dunlop style.
The undisputed female star of Made in Chelsea has to be Caggie Dunlop. The beautiful blonde with the Pre-Raphaelite curls and the bee stung lips has kept viewers hooked with her will she/won’t she relationship with Spencer, which at the moment is most definitely off..or on, you can hardly keep up. But as interesting as the star-crossed lovers might be, it is Caggie’s wardrobe that always catches my eye. Caggie is the most Bohemian dresser of the Made in Chelsea girls, she has that slightly mismatched, boho vibe that made Sienna Miller so appealing in the mid noughties. Caggie’s wardrobe is an interesting mixture of High Street picks, designer finds…
