Style Icons of the Year Pt 1 – Nicole Scherzinger
I didn’t expect to like her, in fact, I was fully expecting to hate her when she was announced as the X Factor 4th judge, but Nicole Scherzinger totally won me over on the X Factor this year and became one of my new style crushes in 2012. Nicole is so beautiful, she looks ‘Schermazing’ in just about everything, but she is also warm, quirky and a whole lots of fun. She also proved to be an excellent mentor, with two of her acts making the final, and James Arthur crowned the eventual, and much deserved winner. I actually thought Nicole had a shaky style in her wardrobe choices, hating…

X Factor Fash Off Week 6
The latest edition of X Factor proved to be the battle of the boybands, with Union J proving the victor. On the fashion front, the honours were pretty much even again, with Tulisa the clear winner on Saturday night, and Nicole looking wonderful during the live results show. Saturday saw Tulisa go all Downton Abbey on us with a stunning Art Deco style beaded dress from Alice Temperley. This was a column dress that had previously been worn by Shirley Bassey, but it was a classically beautiful look that gave Tulisa an elegance that she rarely exhibits. She chose an interesting hairstyle with this dress that also had a Lady…

X Factor Fash Off – Week 5 – Pretty, Pretty,Pretty
This week I had a shock, horror revelation during the vote off show as I realised that I had loved all the dresses on display over the weekend. From Tulisa covering up and looking great, to Nicole showing that you can reveal skin without looking tarty, I totally enjoyed all four of the looks we were treated to. No frock horror shows, nothing to edgy or experimental, just four great dresses. Saturday night On Saturday night Tulisa just sparkled in a beautiful dress from New York designer Jovani. The exquisite and strategically placed beading looked amazing under the studio lights, reminding me of the skin and beads dresses designed by…

X Factor Fash Off Week 4 – Happy Halloween.
Last weeks X Factor is destined to be remembered for Cigarettes and Alcohol rather than any of the performances on the night. Gary Barlow’s shockingly rude comment about Tulisa’s fagash breath seemed out of the character for a man usually renowned as a gentleman, and left the other judges in a state of shock. (Louis Walsh’s face was an absolute picture). The comment certainly overshadowed the fashion on display, which predictably had a dark feel to keep in with the Halloween theme. First up is Nicole, who was wearing a Julien MacDonald embellished catsuit. Now, there is no doubt that Nicole has an incredible body, but in the same way…

X Factor Fash Off – Week 3 – A very mixed bag
Week three of the X Factor live shows, and it was safe to say it was not a vintage week in terms of fashion or music. With only Ella, James and District 3 impressing during the live show, and with dubious outfits from both Tulisa and Nicole, it was again left to Ella Henderson to add some style and class to the proceedings. Here are my opinions on the clothes on show this week, which again I judge to be honours even. Nicole started the weekend well with a mouth-watering raspberry skater dress from Alexander McQueen. The colour was just amazing on her, and I liked that the bodice and…
