Gudrun Sjoden and the perfect Christmas Day Dress
Certain colours have certain connotations. Yellow seems to typify Spring – Daffodils, sunshine and all things bright and new. Autumn is all brown and bronzes, those crunchy leaves and golden sunsets. Halloween can only mean black and gothic, and Christmas is all about red – holly, advent candles and a certain man in a red suit. When I’m looking for something to wear on Christmas day, it is rare that I step away from red in some shape or form. This year, Gudrun Sjoden have created the perfect Christmas Day dress. It’s red, it’s velour, it’s stretchy for extra turkey and trimmings, and it has long sleeves. It is the…

Fashion Focus – A few Outfits from a Busy Autumn
It suddenly struck me tonight that we are now in the final month of Autumn, and I have yet to do a single #wiwt (What I Wore Today) style post. There have been some reviews of outfits, and also events where I link to what I’ve got on, but a pure outfit post – non, nada, zilch. So, in order to remedy this I have put together a post containing some of my fave outfits from what has been a very busy Autumn. Dorothy Perkins Winter Warmers
1st November. And although the sun is now shining high in the sky, this morning there was a definite cold chill in the air, along with mist and fog that said just one thing – Winter is coming. As a person who hates all things cold, and longs for sunshine and heat, the only things that make me even slightly smile at the coming of Winter is Christmas, and the chance to add some sparkle and winter woollies to the wardrobe. Frankly everything else, the cold, snow, sleet, dark nights, dark mornings, sludge etc, etc, can just do one! (Anything mulled can stay though…) This month the fashion focus is…

Plus Size Swimsuits Are Sexier Than Ever
There is absolutely no need for any plus size woman to feel discouraged about her body image — especially not with so many plus-size celebs rocking their full figures. Think Kim Kardashian or Ashley Graham (the first plus size model to grace Sports Illustrated’s swimsuit cover) and you’re thinking of beauty and fashion icons larger than a size six. While the fashion and beauty industries have caught up, the malls and big box fashion outlets have not yet fully come around. Online retailers, however, are coming to the rescue, with many sites devoting their entire stock to plus size customers. The internet revolution is here and that means that if you’re…

DP Curve is launched
This week has seen the launch of the latest plus size collection to hit the High Street. This time around it is Dorothy Perkins who are expanding their range with DP Curve, a new collection that goes from sizes 18 to 28. Dorothy Perkins promise that this collection is specially designed to ‘fit and flatter a fuller figure’. I have been browsing the site this morning, and have selected my favourite 10 pieces. I like that the collection seems to have something to suit all tastes. There are skinny jeans and leggings with tunics and tops for the rock chick and pretty skater style dresses that will appeal to younger…
