December Outfits Post
December was lovely. December was fun. It combined lots of opportunities for going out, to theatres, shows, for a long weekend in Blackpool for Joe’s ninth birthday, but it also had to be juggled against horrendous flu, which made me feel miserable throughout the fun. In terms of outfits, December is the perfect time to wear sparkle, a time when you can find those pieces you have hidden in the back of the wardrobe, and wear them because you really shouldn’t be outshone by your Christmas tree. I found items like the golden skirt that I’ve had for a few years, but always drag it out again at Christmas, and…

Hootenanny 2017 – Beth Ditto and Jessie Ware
Jools Holland’s Hootenanny has become the traditional way to end the year, a guarantee of some good music to make any knees up go with a end of year bang. And even if your party consists of you and the wife/hubby due to being a parent, and if your New Year’s outfit is actually your pyjamas, when George McCrae is ringing in the new year singing ‘Rock your baby’ all is right with the world. You have the best disco in the world right there in your living room and all you need to is continue into the night playing your retro cheap vinyl (not Cds and definitely not an…

Autumn #WIWT Post
OK – My bad. I usually do an outfit of the day post at the end of the month, but I totally forgot in September, and then got caught up in Christmas at the end of October. So today I bring an abridged version of #WIWT for the Autumn months so far, with a promise that November will have a proper post. September is a bit of a transitional month when it comes to fashion, and this Autumn October proved to be surprisingly mild too. So some Summer pieces have had a prolonged life and I’ve been able to stick with bare legs for far longer than I normally would.…

August Outfit Post
It has to be said that I love August. Getting to have some quality time with my little boy is always a pleasure, plus it is also the month of my wedding anniversary, and we spend at least one week in Wales enjoying Summer. So whilst, in weather terms, it was far from a scorcher, there were still lots of opportunities to have a lot of family fun, and, with a few events thrown into the mix, it is a month that I’m already missing, especially as Autumn has arrived with cold, winds and lots of rain. In terms of fashion, there were a few new additions to my wardrobe,…

Gudrun Sjoden Belem Dress
I will never stop being a fan of the wonderful Gudrun Sjoden. Whilst the rest of the High Street is embracing minimalism and neutrals, Gudrun takes one look and says ‘no, not for me’ and instead treats us to a riot of pattern and colour, in high quality organic cottons that allow us to stretch, move and breathe. A fashion maverick in the vein of Westwood, Betsey Johnson and Pam Hogg, Gudrun’s slice of Scandinavian style is one to love and embrace. I’ve been a fan of Gudrun since I discovered the brand at a Varg press day a fair few years ago, and each season I add a few…
