Nude/Pink Sequin Shell Top from Simply Be
Every wardrobe needs a pretty sparkly top – a going out top so to speak. A top that can be teamed with a pair of jeans and heels for a night at the pub, or worn with a pencil skirt for a more formal occasion. At this time of year, sparkly tops covered in sequins and glitter really come into their own as they can also be worn in the day as you plunge yourself into festive season – sparkles and sequins are definitely not just for Christmas, but it probably is their favourite time of the year. I’m a magpie when it comes to shiny, glittery things, so I…

Collarless Faux Fur Pocket Coat from Simply Be
It is one of those strange paradoxes that when the weather starts to turn colder, we say we want to be cuddled up warm inside, and yet spend even more time in the great outdoors. This week is a case in point. So far we’ve spent time trick or treating with our kids, standing around a bonfire and watching fireworks, and tomorrow I’ll be standing on the freezing cold touchline as the temperature is set to plummet. In the next few weeks, the Christmas market will be arriving in Birmingham, and I’ve got a trip planned to Lincoln to walk around yet another Christmas market, drinking mulled wine and trying…

October Outfits Post
October was a lovely busy month, and, as much as I hate the coming of Winter, October was also a fairly pleasant and mild month. I was able to still leave the tights off for most of the month so that was a bonus, and I avoided jeans as much as I could – another bonus. I was busy with some lovely events that gave me a few chances for dressing up, including my mom’s 60th birthday which we celebrated in a rather lovely Italian restaurant, and saw me nab that Topshop cold shoulder dress that I’d spotted, and fell in love with in the window of Outfit in West…

September Outfits Post
This week’s Friday Fashion focus is centred around the outfits that I wore in September. It’s the usual mixture of new items, charity shop and car boot finds (my Eastex jacket which I have tracked to the 1970s and am just a bit in love with at the moment) and pieces from my wardrobe that I have dug out, or seem to wear a lot. (For instance, I’m making no excuses for living in my denim skirt that I got in Spring, I really love it). September was a busy month, and the weather was, on the whole, pretty good, so I was able to get some more wear out…

Pink Clove Angila Dress Review
Pink Clove is a brand which exemplifies just how far plus size clothing has moved on in the last few years. From smock style butterfly covered tents, we now have clothes which flatter the form and the body, and celebrate curves rather than attempting to hide them. Pink Clove is totally fashion led, going up to a size 28, and using the key styles and colour trends from the current season. Pink Clove is fashion – it’s as simple as that. I was recently asked if I wanted to do a review of something from the current Pink Clove collection, and I chose the Angila Panelled Front Plunge dress, which…
