Kate Middleton’s 1950s styling
The public engagements are coming in thick and fast for the Duchess of Cambridge right now. The end of last week saw two more appearances, with Kate visiting the Dulwich gallery, and then inspecting the Irish Guards on St Patrick’s Day. And I noticed that on these two occasions, Kate was styled in a way that evoked images of the New Look looking distinctly 1950s. Is Kate now taking her sartorial cues from Grace Kelly? At the Dulwich Gallery Kate wore another dress from Orla Kiely. This was a dark grey wool dress with pretty black applique flower detailing on the neckline. In terms of styling this was pure 50s, nipped…

Pippa and Kate End The Year In Style.
Those lovely Middleton ladies ended the year on a style high, showing that the cold weather is no excuse to let up on the fashion front. A new picture of Kate showed her looking dressed down in a stylish shearling style jacket from LK Bennett along with a pair of Wellington boots that matched those worn by her brother-in-law Prince Harry. The jacket, the Darwin, is now sold out completely online, in both expresso brown and black shades. Kate was also wearing her much loved Temperley honeycomb jumper, and a rather stylish jaunty hat. You can steal Kate’s hat style for just £4 with this cute wool felt trilby from…

It is fair to say I have come quite late to the phenomenon that is The Only Way is Essex. But, I am now totally addicted to watching this docu-soap that entails the lives, loves and adventures of a group of Essex 20 somethings. And whilst enjoying the voyeuristic look at life around the Sugarhut, I have also become enamoured with the style and wardrobe of one Essex girl. Step forward Lydia Bright. Now Lydia isn’t your typical TOWIE girl. Rather than the body con Herve Leger styles, Lydia is a total vintage girl at heart. Her wardrobe is full of full length maxi dresses, pretty boho styles and original…

The Show Redefinition at The Bullring Pt 1
Last week was certainly a good week for attending fashion shows. After enjoying the sights and sounds of the Jasper Garvida show, and the universally appealing Caryn Franklin show, it was off to the Bullring to enjoy ‘Redefinition’ – a show that promised to be just that little bit different, due to the use of Hologram imagery, including a gorgeous hologram of the man of the weekend, George Lamb. The show was a preview of all the key trends that are/or will be available, this Autumn in Bullring stores. All the key names were represented, from Cos and Reiss, to Forever 21 and River Island. Here are some of the…

Kate – The Duchess of the High Street.
She may now be a real life Duchess, and wife to the second in line to the British throne no less, but Kate, Duchess of Cambridge remains the Queen of the British High street. Today, fresh from her honeymoon in the Seychelles, and looking tanned and gorgeous, she made her first official appearance since her wedding when she met the Obama’s during their visit to Buckingham Palace. Despite many calls that Kate should start to support British designers, Kate chose to wear the classy and elegant Shola dress from British High Street Store Reiss. This dress, which costs £175, is currently available at Reiss stores and online. In a biscuit…
