Sarah Jessica Parker – The style icon is back!
Like most women, I adore Sarah Jessica Parker and her inimitable style. She is, after all, Carrie Bradshaw – the women with the most lusted after wardrobe on both the small and silver screen. But lately, things have been quiet on the Carrie Bradshaw front. The critical mauling that Sex in the City 2 took means that it is looking very unlikely that there will be a Sex in the City 3,whilst Sarah herself had been a little quiet, seeming be photographed only when she was looking casual on the school run. But May has seen the re-emergence of a true style icon. From a triumphant appearance at the met…

Cannes fashion – Whose style radar was switched on?
The Cannes film festival is one of the most glittering, stylish events on the film or fashion calendar. Filled to the brim with A-List film stars, wannabe starlets and some of the Worlds most beautiful people, this is an event that brings out the best in star style. Here are some of my favourite looks from this year’s festival. 1. Sarah Jessica Parker in Dolce and Gabbana. This white lace collection has been one of the stars of the Spring/Summer season, and in the glorious surroundings of the French Riveria, it looks cool and fresh. Love the styling of this with acres of necklaces. 2. Diane Kruger. One person whose…

Met Ball revisited – Good dresses.
The New York Costume Institute’s annual gala is THE fashion event of the year. Wall to Wall with stunning gowns and glamorous make-up, this is the one event that no fashionista wants to miss. This year the ball was a tribute to the late, great Alexander McQueen, with the Savage Beauty exhibition of his fabulous gowns opening at the Met. Of course, this meant a range of beautiful McQueen gowns on show, but many other designers were showcased too, with Stella McCartney having a very busy Met ball. Here are my picks for the best and worst dresses. Best Ginnifer Goodwin flew the flag for the high street with this…

Why Blake Lively should not play Carrie Bradshaw
The internet has been going crazy this week with the news that Blake Lively may be playing the young Carrie Bradshaw in an adaptation of Candace Bushnell’s ‘The Carrie Diaries’, the prequel to Sex in the City that tells the tale of Carrie Bradshaw’s teenage years. I am not happy about this. I like Blake Lively. She is tall, blonde and beautiful. As stylish off-screen as she is on, she is the current darling of Chanel’s Karl Lagerfeld, and is the undoubted star of Gossip Girl. (Sorry Blake!). But she is just not right for the role of the teenage Carrie. For a start, Blake is imply too tall and…

Why fashion won’t forget Alexander McQueen.
In the midst of the glamour and hustle of London Fashion week, the fashion community turned out to remember one of their own. Yesterday, a service of remembrance was held to celebrate and remember the life of Lee ‘Alexander’ McQueen, who took his own life earlier this year. Sarah Jessica Parker, Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Daphne Guinness and Anna Wintour were amongst those attending the memorial service to the tragic maverick genius, whose designs elicited a stream of strong emotions amongst fashion critics. Some loved them, even uncompromising collections like ‘Highland Rape’, with its mixture of rough Scottish tartan and lace creations. Isabella Blow, the eccentric, and ultimately tragic fashionista,…
