- Superdry Spring/Summer Press DayThe Superdry Superstore on Regent Street is certainly one that lives up to the name ‘Super’. It is a palace of a store, and certainly the perfect venue for a press event, with more than enough space to show new collections to great advantage. On Thursday that is just what happened, when Superdry introduced the collections that have us thinking again to sunnier times. This was a collection that will certainly convert those that think that Superdry is all about jeans and clunky boots. There was just so much to admire. I loved the ‘Mod’ style tailored jackets, with military style gold buttons, and flashes of colour. English heritage was represented…
- Zatchels are going from strength to strengthOne of my favourite brands has had a pretty impressive couple of months. Zatchels, the fabulous Midlands based company who design a range of leather bags to literally die for, have opened two new stores, a pop up shop at Bicester Village, and just this week, a factory shop in Leicester. The pop up shop was officially launched in June by the lovely Donna Air, giving Zatchels a great royal connection to tie in with it’s proud ‘Made in Britain’ tag. And, as you would probably expect from Zatchels, this store is a veritable treasure trove of soft leather, bright colour and expert design, with a wide range of different…
- Boden New Season – Gorgeous spring brightsThe Boden Spring/Summer collection was one of the most exciting I saw at the press days, and it is now hitting stores and online. This is a collection that is just bursting with colour of every shade, on dresses, knitwear and accessories. And, being Boden, all those gorgeous, quirky touches are there in abundance, from button back jumpers to colour blocking bags. This collection reminds me of Miu Miu in many aspects. Stripes are teamed with spots, dresses have a 1960s feel with Peter Pan collars and colours seemed designed to be both clashing and matching in equal parts. The Highbury Dress, in particular, could be a Miu Miu design…
- Liberty Prints…Not just for ChristmasIf you want to choose a last minute Christmas gift that has history and heritage behind it, then you need to pay a visit to Liberty, or at least to the Liberty London website if you can’t make it to the stunning, Tudor facade, store that dominates Great Malborough Street in London. Liberty print has been an iconic design classic since the Victorian era, when it first emerged as part of the Arts and Crafts movement. Since then the iconic prints have appeared on numerous items, some predictable (scarves are the perfect place to see such glorious prints), some just totally inspired (Doc Marten boots are the strangest place, but…
- Ted Baker’s amazing new men’s accessories at SelfridgesWhilst the ladies were enjoying the gigantic shopping experience that is Style Birmingham, Selfridges made sure that the menfolk were not neglected with a very special launch of the ‘Ted Baker workshop’ department. This was the sort of event which should really be ‘Only men allowed’, but I popped along a little earlier for a sneaky preview of what sort of treats were going to be on offer that afternoon, and let’s just say that this event would appeal to even those men who profess to really hating shopping! Ted Baker accessories have been something pretty special in recent seasons, I totally adore the shiny brights of Ted’s ‘sweet shoppe’…
