Trend focus – Coloured shoes
One of the easiest ways to get colour into your wardrobe is through accessories. Brightly coloured handbags and stylish scarfs are certainly one way to brighten up a simple outfit, but my favourite way to add colour to my wardrobe is through shoes. And it seems that this is a popular trend at present. A whole host of stylish celebrities have shown how a bright shoe can transform an outfit into somthing special. Molly Sim and Nikki Reed have used reddish tones to add interest to black trousers, whilst America Ferrara and Cobie Smulders have opted for bubblegum pinks to contrast against their evening attire. I particularly love America wearing…

New season bags from Spartoo
I always think Spring is the perfect time to invest in a shiny new handbag. There are always lots of new styles available, in a range of new season colours that you almost become spoiled for choice. I love handbags, having far more than I could ever wish to use. But some of them have seen better days. Having a little boy I often end up carrying the most unexpected of items in my bag – this week, I have taken out a tennis ball (a 50p purchase my son insisted on when we were looking around Sports Direct), stickers that are no longer sticky, a half eaten milky bar…

All I want for Christmas is shoes
The title is no festive jest, as a confirmed shoe-holic, whenever I’m asked what I would like for Christmas, another image of footwear immediately pops into my head. Everything from Ash style wedge trainers, comfortable ankle boots for the school run, heeled boots for the weekend and something heeled and sexy for date night with hubby, I frankly find it hard to meet a pair of shoes or boots that I don’t like. But at this time of year, it is shoes with added sparkle that catch the eye. Whether we are talking glittery shoes in the style of Dorothy from ‘The Wizard of Oz’, or metallic beauties, Christmas party…

Dancing Shoes inspired by Strictly Come Dancing
Strictly Come Dancing rules the Saturday night television in my house. I love everything about it. The mix of celebrities are perfect, the dances inspired, the costumes are never less than fabulous, and, of course I’m in love with the fabulous dancing shoes. The professional dancers and female contestants wear the most feminine and elegant shoes, often mid-heeled and Mary Jane style, and seem to (mostly) glide around the dance floor in effortless style. Maybe they have found the secret of the perfect shoe for causing ‘murder on the dance floor.’ (Bit of a Sophie pun there – sorry!) With the Christmas party season already beginning for some of us,…

Weathering the storm – grab your Wedge Wellies
I’ve been a little obsessed with Wedge Wellies since I first spotted them on Dragon’s Den. The idea of a stylish Wellington boot that could also offer the height, and the glamour of a wedge heel was something that really appealed to the side of me that hates flat shoes. In the years since that Dragon’s Den episode, the not so humble boots have moved on from strength to strength. And, with the UK facing some extreme weather conditions this week involving the possibility of flooding, it seems appropriate to pay tribute to the force of shoe nature that is the Wedge Welly. Wedge Wellies offer so much in the…
