I always think Spring is the perfect time to invest in a shiny new handbag. There are always lots of new styles available, in a range of new season colours that you almost become spoiled for choice.
I love handbags, having far more than I could ever wish to use. But some of them have seen better days. Having a little boy I often end up carrying the most unexpected of items in my bag – this week, I have taken out a tennis ball (a 50p purchase my son insisted on when we were looking around Sports Direct), stickers that are no longer sticky, a half eaten milky bar and numerous small bricks – what is it with boys and collecting bricks? Anyone with a young child will know exactly what I am talking about here, and are probably shuddering at the thought. Because All these weird and wonderful things are not kind to the lining and hardware of your bags, but are as good a reason as any to treat yourself to a new one.
Spartoo has long been one of my shoe vendors of choice and now they are also stocking a great range of bags too. Top of my list are the cool leather shoulder bags from Betty London, which are a fantastic bargain price. Benetton is fabulous for a real everyday bag, these are roomy and spacious and can carry everything you need. And if you are looking for a beautiful, designer, investment piece, I would recommend the fabulous French style of Sonia Rykiel, truly handbags that you will carry forever.
