Alicante: Your Next Mediterranean Experience
Tucked away in the southeastern corner of Spain between Murcia and Valencia, Alicante is the capital of the Costa Blanca vacation region. Often overlooked in favor of more famous names like Barcelona, Madrid, Mallorca, and Malaga, Alicante is a gorgeous little city that is an excellent place to stay. As the name suggests, the surrounding area is littered with beautiful white-sand beaches, while the city itself is a fantastic combination of culture, history, and relaxation. Right on the coast, there’s a delightful city beach, while the medieval fortress looming over the white houses and cobbled streets of the old town centre hints at the region’s fascinating history. If you are…

Andorra: The Princess Of The Pyrenees
Stuck in the eastern Pyrenees between France and Spain, the tiny principality of Andorra is one of Europe’s most fascinating geographical and historical paradoxes. This trip is the perfect opportunity to get to know one of the smallest countries in the world, as exotic Andorra is just a three-hour drive from the capital of Catalonia. Frequent bus services depart daily from Barcelona Sants Central Station and from El Prat Airport to Andorra la Velia, the capital and only city of the mountain principality, making the trip there a relatively easy affair and is enough to choose the correct itineraries depending on the season. Travelling to Andorra You do not need…

The weird and wonderful world of Iceland
Earlier in the year I wrote about my bucket list destination of Iceland. I have a real love for the beautiful land of fire and ice, of the glorious scenery, the geysers, the stalagmites, the landscapes that span from mountains and glaciers to expanses of cold sea. In my earlier post I looked at some of the most popular, and traditional places to visit during a trip, but Iceland is truly a weird and wonderful land, and there are so many other places and experiences to enjoy that are far away from the beaten track. Whether you are a lover of Halloween, or of Christmas, or just a football fan…

Travel Focus – Wonderful Singapore
Continuing with my travel series of wonderful places to visit I am turning my attention to Singapore, the jewel in Malaysia’s crown. Singapore is one of the best places I have visited, with gleaming pavements, a ban on chewing gum, and old colonial style buildings carefully meshing into an ultra modern city. Whether you want to enjoy the vibrant culture of Chinatown, hark back to the empire at the Raffles Hotel, or even just shop until you drop on Orchid Road, Singapore is an amazing place that you will want to visit again and again. The Raffles Hotel Yes, it is a cheesy tourist trap, but having a Singapore Sling…

My Favourite Holiday Moment
When our thoughts turn to Spring, a lot of people also turn their thoughts to their Summer holiday. Whether you are planning a long haul trip, something with a short flight, or even a UK break, a holiday is a time to create wonderful new memories, and our choice of destination can often be influenced by previous, fabulous holidays. I have yet to book for this year, but have been browsing and have often found a cheaper deal here. One of the places we have been considering is Cyprus, where we not only spent our holiday over the last couple of years, but also watched my little brother get married.…
