Vintage at the Manor
The Manor House Museum is a jewel in the Midlands crown, a beautiful historic building in West Bromwich that was built in the 13th Century. For many years it was a pub – I actually met my husband there, and so it has many special memories for me. It was recently taken back into the guardianship of Sandwell Council, and is now used for events, guided tours and family friendly activitites. This Sunday saw Vintage at the Manor 2 taking place – a weekend dedicated to all things Vintage, from clothes and accessories, to beauty and music. Hands Up who shops in Primark (a million hands fly up). Let’s be honest, we all shop in Primark, or Primarni as it is affectionately known, at some time or other. Whether we source our whole wardrobes from its amazing budget finds, or add to our accessories collections with great shoes and bags, or simply pop in from time to time because we can’t resist a bargain, Primark is a destination on most of our shopping lists. When I was a little girl, West Bromwich was a shopping experience I used to love. Lots of top name stores, two shopping centres (ultra modern with a water featured that flowed from the ceiling), and with a general buzz you find in popular shopping destinations. Chelsea Girl returns.
One of my overwhelming memories of being a very young girl was Saturday shopping with my mom in West Bromwich. I remember John Menzies had a great toy department, and that my mom loved a shop called ‘Lady at Lord John’, which just sounded such a cool name. But mainly I remember Chelsea Girl.
