Ugg Australia Fantastic new collection unveiled in Brum
I was never a fan of Uggs, until I was given the opportunity to view the full collection when the Bullring Birmingham store opened. I was not only pleasantly surprised that Ugg Australia was about so much more than comfortable, warm, but slightly bulky boots, but also seriously impressed by how fashion forward the range was. (You can read that original post here.)
Earlier this month I was invited to the fabulous Birmingham Bullring store to examine what Ugg Australia had in store for us this season. Last year there has been a style emphasis on New York, with definite retro nods to the 1970s. This season, Ugg has traveled across the fashion map and has now stopped off at New Orleans, home of Mardi Gras.
New Orleans is notable for being bright and vibrant, and this collection echoes the vibrancy. Studded pumps in the most beautiful shades of blue and coral, complete with shiny patent leather and stud details, were amongst the stand out pieces. Heeled boots stood alongside boots which were suggestive of styles worn by Native Americans, complete with soft suede and lace up details.
Whatever your favourite style of boot, Ugg Australia has something for you this season. There are riding boots with straps and buckles to add details. Fur edged 1970s styles with clog effect heels. The biker boots have stud and metal button embellishments, and there are ankle boots that will look perfect, either with your jeans, or worn with this seasons plaid kilt skirt.
Don’t worry if you love the traditional style boot, they are still around of course, just waiting to keep our feet warm when the cold snap inevitably starts. But Ugg have introduced new colours in the classic styles, as well as patent effects, pretty suede bows and gorgeous studs that just add a new complexion onto what is now a design classic, whether you love them or hate them.
With huge thanks to the Birmingham team and the ladies from Focus PR.

I love Uggs, even the originals, I had two pairs that lasted me for about four years. Whenever people moan about they look awful with the backs trod down I smile sweetly and say, “Fakes do that, real ones don’t”
All of these look gorgeous.

I like the more tailored style boot. The ankle with turnover and riding boot Would only work with trousers though …

These are much better than the regular uggs! x

Still not a fan I’m afraid Em, of any of those. You can buy a much more stylish pair of boots on the high street and probably pay a fraction of the price… X

I just can’t bring myself to like Uggs. Stick a 4″ heel on some and I may relent, but until then they’re just not for me.
I can see why other people might like the range, particularly the leather boots, but not for me, I’m afraid!
