Clarks and Liberty Arts Prints – they’re back!
One of my favourite collaborations last year was the one between Clarks shoes and Liberty Arts prints. The coming together of two classic British brands was a major success, combining the exquisite retro prints from Liberty, with Clarks great and durable design. Well, the great news is that a new collection has just been launched, with the emphasis very much on the court shoe. There are two major designs currently, the peep toe and the suede full court shoe. Each has a mid height heel, making them perfect as a very stylish work shoe, and there are both patent leather and suede designs available. Also in the collection are a…

Creating your perfect sporty wardrobe
A good many of you joined a gym at the beginning of the year, or signed up for a marathon, or embarked on a new fitness regime dedicated to getting you in perfect shape for 2013. And, as we draw to the end of January, now is the perfect time to congratulate yourself on completing your fittest ever January by treating yourself to a super stylish, and ultra feminine sporting wardrobe. Sporting ladies used to have two choices of outfits for fitness activities. You could either choose something ultra masculine in dark colours, or you could go for the baggy t-shirt and black leggings combo. Not any more. These days…

The SAG Awards – Pick of the dresses
And the awards bandwagon rolls on. This time it was the SAG awards, which, traditionally, is a slightly more dressed down affair than the Golden Globes and The Oscars. On this occasion though, there were some really nice dresses, although nothing that would actually make you gasp. Very bright or black and white seemed to be the order of the night, although there were some notable additions of sparkle from Helen Hunt and a sizzling Naomi Watts. Here are some of the key trends, the style winners and losers from a glamorous night. Glamorous Sparkle Naomi Watts was a definite contender for best dressed. Wearing a silver strapless sheath from…

AX Paris Curve Lemon Chiffon Skirt – fruity gorgeousness
When you are a size 16+, you can find yourself limited in the shopping department. Although many stores now have ‘plus size’ ranges, these are often quite limited in scope and choice, to the point that I often find myself mouthing those immortal words ‘not another tunic…’ So I was quite excited last year when AX Paris launched ‘Curve’, a range that would stock fashionable items in sizes 16-26. Curve promised to offer so much more than just leggings and tunics in every shade of black, it promised beautiful maxi dresses perfect for evening occasions, brightly coloured tops and t-shirts that would fit rather than swamp a curvier frame. And…

Screen Producers Guild Awards – The Best looks
Ahead of the Screen Actors Guild awards, we have had the Screen Producers Awards, which were another feast for my fashionista eyes. Unusually, a lady who I think has been absolutely nailing it on the red carpet at the moment, Anne Hathaway, didn’t make my top five in a pretty floral dress that was lovely, but more summer wedding than January red carpet. Also not making my list was Amanda Seyfried, who chose to wear gorgeous zesty orange, but in a creased and ill-fitting dress. But there were some real movie stars out there too. Here are my favourite five of the night. Julianna Margulies was a 1940s movie…
