Reasons Why You Should Change Your Mattress
Each morning when I would wake up, I found myself more tired and in pain than before I had gone to bed. It wasn’t until I spoke with my doctor that he recommended I get a new mattress, and since the change I cannot begin to tell you how different I feel each day. I began by going online to CutPriceMattress and purchasing a brand new king size mattress that was delivered the same week. Here are just some of the reasons this was the best purchase I have made in years. How I feel in the mornings Waking up sore and tired each day was a result of…

Sorting out those eye problems with Optical Express
Once upon a time, the only way to deal with eye problems was through the wearing of glasses. They came in all guises, from National Health monstrosities I remember so well from school (pink and blue frames for girls, the brown frames that Jarvis Cocker wore so ironically for boys), to much more expensive, stylish designs. Glasses could look great, but they also proved to be expensive, made certain sports and activities difficult, and could even be slightly painful for the nose. Contact lenses were a brilliant development for many people. They alleviated the need to wear glasses, but for some people they were never a real option. My sister…

Planning a Dining Room Make-over
I once remember my mom saying that once you have your own home, you never really stop decorating. It’s a bit like painting the Forth Bridge – you go from room to room, and once you get back to the start, you start again as it starts to look a little shabby. We moved into our home in 2003, and the first room we decorated was our dining room. It was self facing, so I turned it into my sunshine room, with yellow walls, a solid wood floor and wooden furniture. It was my favourite room in the house, the one that was most ‘me’ and reflected my love of…

A vintage Update
It seems like an age since I last wrote about my vintage and charity shops finds. A glimpse at one of my favourite vintage blogs – Porcelina’s World – this morning inspired me to share a few of my recent vintage and charity shop finds. Summer is a great time to find a vintage bargain. There are great car boot sales which are a good hunting ground. I found a great blue crimplene skirt for 50p, and a gothic black dress (pictured below) for just £2. Car boot sales allow you to barter and you can often make an offer if you find a few good items. We visit Wales…

High Street Outlet celebrate the Little Black dress
Some people hold the view that Summer holiday dressing has to involve bright colours. Others use a suntan as a perfect base for white cottons and linens. But I truly believe that, even when the sun is blistering, nothing is chicer than a little black dress, whether it be midi, mini or maxi style. High Street Outlet sent me a couple of beautiful dresses for my recent summer holiday in Menorca, and one of those dresses was indeed a black dress. The Ex M&Co black maxi dress is a stretchy maxi style dress with a simple yet elegant design. It has shoulder straps with a gold bar detail, making this…
