Boohoo Autumn Preview – and an array of Summer maxi dresses
The Boohoo.com preview for Autumn/Winter 2014 was held at No1 Marylebone, and had a true summer holiday atmosphere. There were photo booths, hook a duck games, seaside style cut-outs for posing in, and a feast of sunny food and drink choices. But there was also fashion that looked forward to the cooler days of Autumn and Winter, and eclectic mix of prints, colours and fabrics.
I was a little confused with the styling, I guess I’m just too old for the baseball style jackets and glittery slogan sweatshirts. But I loved lots of the individual pieces that were adorning rail upon rail. I also fell in love with the yellow over-sized printed overcoat – very Annie Hall in style. I was also impressed with the Brooklyn Princess range, which seemed to be what you would get if you crossed Ali McGraw’s 1970 Love Story look with Jay Z. Neutral shades in long coats and beanie hats, meshed with metallic elements – in jumpers, bomber jackets and glittering caps. I think the white biker jackets with Afghan style fluffy waistcoats over will be a big hit for the brand.
The accessories, as ever, were of a high standard. The heels were designer inspired, with single ankle straps and chunky heels (Cara Delevingne wore something very similar for sister Poppy’s wedding this weekend). I loved the use of cobalt once again, such a fab colour that I am glad it is still around. The minimalist box clutches are also great, so neat and elegant for a night out.
This is all in the not to distant future of course, and with the sun shining, Boohoo has some fabulous prom dresses that will be perfect for barbecues, sight-seeing and general hazy, lazy sunny days. Here are a few of my current picks.

I like your picks, and agree that some of the mannequins were styled a bit strange. Why so many layers?! #magicmoments
