Charity Shop And Vintage Buys July/August Edition
My latest charity shop and Vinted finds features some of the things I have found on my Summer travels. I’ve spent a bit of time in the Cotswolds this Summer and found some rich pickings, as well as finding new shops in towns I visit regularly that have also yielded some great buys. I also took a holiday in Devon, and visited a range of different towns, all of which had some amazing finds that included vintage designer pieces. You can certainly pick up a Summer wardrobe by just looking at charity and thrift shops, as the many outfits featured below prove, and you can also pick up a great…

Charity Shop Focus: Acorns Wednesbury
Regular readers of this blog know that I am a huge fan of charity shops, and of the bargains that you can find in them. Today I am going to be focusing on one of my favourite charity shops. Acorns shops are run in support of the Acorns Children’s hospices, raising funds for the valuable work they do in supporting the families of terminally ill children. Wednesbury is a small, but thriving, Black Country town, and the Acorns store is a great charity shop. It is clean, bright and well organised, always has a good selection of stock which is changed…

Or the ones with the happy faces superimposed onto conjoined wedding rings, and don’t even get me started on the wistful bride staring out of a window, looking for her handsome groom. These pictures can often make even the most romantic soul gag. So we need to thank heaven for the wonderful work of photographer Emma Case. Emma is a Birmingham based photographer, who looks to the ghosts of weddings past for vintage inspiration. I was lucky enough to meet Emma ( and…

Five Minutes with Helen Boyle – a quick chat with a Fashionista.
Fashion-Mommy was lucky enough to meet Fashion stylist and TV presenter Helen Boyle at the ‘Newlife at Home’ launch. Helen is a true fashionista, with more than ten years experience in the fashion industry. Sha has worked as the resident fashion stylist on ITV’s ‘This Morning’ and was more recently the fashion producer and co-presenter on Sky 1’s ‘Angela and friends’. In addition to this, Helen was the fashion producer on one of my favourite programmes, Channel 4’s ‘Gok’s Fashion Fix‘. Fashion-Mommy was able to put a few questions to a true style heroine. Fashion-Mommy: How did you get into fashion? Helen Boyle: Through sheer hard work. I started of…
