Get Kate-tastic Inspiration from Dorothy Perkins
I just adore the Duchess of Cambridge’s personal style. I don’t really care that Alexa Chung beat her to British Style Icon at the Fashion awards, or that Vivienne Westwood isn’t that impressed with her choices, I think she is an immaculate style inspiration who understands that fine art of dressing like a lady. Kate watchers amongst you can’t help but notice that Kate is also proving a style information for the High Street too. Ladylike dresses with neat clean lines are everywhere, and non more so than at Dorothy Perkins. Just look at some of the Duchess inspired dresses I found whilst trawling their website. Then pop along yourself…

Clothes Show Live – shopping, celebs…and more shopping!
I had my first experience of the Clothes Show Live last week, and I have to say I was quite impressed! Held each December in Birmingham’s LG Arena, the show attracts a mainly female audience who are attracted by the prospect of major shopping bargains from top brands and cult labels, beauty bargains to die for, and cute celebrity men..both models and mere mortals. They were not to be disappointed on any count. In terms of shopping, there are beauty bargains galore. From Illamasqua selling their fantastic mascaras two for five pounds (yes I did say £5!),great goodie bags from Jelly Pong Pong, Bourjois and Rimmel for less than £10,…

Curvissa – beautiful dressing for those curves
Curvissa is an Aladdin’s cave of a website full of the most exquisite of dresses for those of us blessed with curves. I recently discovered this site whilst looking for a party dress and was seriously impressed by the choice and variation in styles. These are dresses that totally accentuate fuller figures rather than trying to shroud them. And instead of the slimming ‘black’, we are blessed with dresses that show style, colour and elegance. There are Grecian style gowns, figure hugging sexy numbers and flirty prom styles..basically something for every taste. And these dresses come in sizes from 14-32. Here are some of my favourites from an extensive range.…

After enjoying a quick slide show highlighting some of the Spring/Summer trends that I will go into in further detail over the festive period, along with sumptuous glasses of champers, we were treated to a special…

Miracle on Regent street – An interview with Ali Harris
I always read a festive story as the countdown to Christmas begins. And just sometimes I read a story that I get so involved in that I just can’t put it down. That’s how I feel about the wonderful, heartwarming story that is ‘Miracle on Regent Street’. The story of a fallen on hard times department store, and the stockroom girl determined to transform its fortunes, and, just maybe, her own, this is a story that only a real life Scrooge could fail to love. I adored the tails of the long forgotten vintage stock, the hand-made soaps that take on iconic status, and most of all I loved each…
