Paris Fashion Week – Front Row Style.
Paris fashion week is well-known for the starriest and most stylish front rows, and this year has been no exception. From Princess Charlene who shone in gold on the front row at Akris, to Clemence Poesy and Uma Thurman flying the flag for Chanel, the front rows have been a good combination of star power and style power. Here are some of my favourite front row looks, and how you can channel the look for a fraction of the cost. Carinne Roitfeld and Jennifer Hudson both looked fabulous in the simple, but very stylish pencil skirt and shirt combo. Pencil skirts are a hot story this year,it was only last…

The Show Redefinition at The Bullring Pt 1
Last week was certainly a good week for attending fashion shows. After enjoying the sights and sounds of the Jasper Garvida show, and the universally appealing Caryn Franklin show, it was off to the Bullring to enjoy ‘Redefinition’ – a show that promised to be just that little bit different, due to the use of Hologram imagery, including a gorgeous hologram of the man of the weekend, George Lamb. The show was a preview of all the key trends that are/or will be available, this Autumn in Bullring stores. All the key names were represented, from Cos and Reiss, to Forever 21 and River Island. Here are some of the…

Stephanie Grace Foy – One to watch.
At the recent London Fashion Week I was lucky enough to meet and chat to Stephanie Grace Foy. A talented up and coming designer, I was intrigued by her collection ‘Longitude/Latitude’ which seemed to juxtaposedly be the most simple, yet also the most intricate of designs. This is a wonderful collection of ‘lighter than air’ pieces that are deceptive in their cool simplicity. Stephanie has a background as a freelance pattern cutter working for some of the best in the fashion business. Her CV includes pattern cutting for Mark Fast, Topshop Unique and Mario Schwab. Witnessing the inner workings of the design process led Stephanie to formulate ideas for her…

Vauxhall Fashion Scout Exhibition – Edward Finney
Vauxhall Fashion Scout is a veritable hotbed of new fashion talent, with the exhibition a great showcase for new design. I had a good look around yesterday and totally fell in love with the unique, unusual designs of Edward Finney. My first words on seeing his collection were ‘This is a man influenced by Alexander McQueen‘, and I was fascinated to learn that Edward Finney had worked with McQueen, and also with another fashion genius, John Galliano , with whom he worked as assistant designer for four years. After viewing his offbeat designs, I don’t think it will be that long before we mention Edward Finney in the same breath…

Victoria by Victoria Beckham – Really cute!
Victoria Beckham has finally unveiled her diffusion collection ‘Victoria’ by Victoria Beckham, and it is quite different from her usual collections to say the least. A cute collection of shorter, 1960s style shifts and mini dresses, this seems miles away from her usual collections in terms of sophistication. Whereas her Victoria Beckham line is full of cool and elegant looks, this is the fun and flirty side of Mrs Beckham. Think the younger sister of the mainline wearer and you might be getting somewhere. This line is bright and colourful, and will retail much cheaper than the normal collection. The silhouettes are loose and flowing, non of the va-va-voom of…
