Prabal Gurung – it’s sheer love!
Don’t mind admitting I just love Prabal Gurung. This was the one show during New York fashion show that I was over-excited about, and the shots of SJP wearing one of Prabal’s designs whilst on the promotional trail for ‘I don’t know how she does it’, just further wetted the appetite. I am so glad to say I was not disappointed. This was one very sexy collection. Full of sheer panels, on sleeves, on skirts and on hips, vibrant colours like the purple quality street shades used on one of the most showstopping of dresses, and with flirty, feminine shapes with bell sleeves and nipped in waists, there was just…

Jason Wu – S/S 12 – Oh so pretty!
One of my New York Fashion Week favourites, Jason Wu, unveiled his latest collection yesterday, and the collection could be summed up with a single statement ‘Oh So Pretty’. The designer, one of Michelle Obama‘s favourites, produced a collection that was gorgeously feminine, supremely elegant and totally girly – all of which is music to my ears. Full of peachy pinks and coral tones, using the wispiest of chiffons and silks, this was a collection for those who really wished to embrace the pretty side of their style personality. Harking back to the 1950s days of Balenciaga and Jacques Fath, there were pieces in this collection that would have graced…

Markus Lupfer brings style and Charm to Birmingham
Markus Lupfer, is, without doubt, one of fashion’s brightest stars. His ebullient take on knitwear filled with acres of sparkle is adored by fashionistas and A-List celebrities alike. So it was a very excited Fashion-Mommy who made her way to the fabulous Harvey Nichols store in Birmingham’s Mailbox on Wednesday night to watch an exclusive trunk show presented by the great man himself, along with Relative Mo’s Sara Byworth – PR par excellence. Harvey Nichols are true masters of hospitality at these events, and this occasion was a great example of this. Champagne and fabulous canapes were available for guests, along with a wonderful goodie bag for each spectator. A…

Nicole Murray – now view the collection.
I recently wrote about Fashion’s bright new hope Nicole Murray, a designer who I believe is one to watch. Today I am very pleased to be able to share Nicole’s Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. Full of Autumnal shades of heather, amethyst and rosewood, combined with rich earthy tones of bronze, this stylish and sophisticated collection illustrates perfectly why Nicole is a rising star on the British fashion scene. From the slinky backless evening dress, to the retro pencil skirts and skinny fit tops, this is a collection that salutes the Halston style glamour of the 1970s. The use of lame for trenchcoats and sexy secretary skirts is a key to the…
