Garden Inspiration for Spring
I love being out in my garden, sitting and relaxing with a book, or enjoying a game of football with Joe. But after a Winter that saw some very cold days, and an awful lot of rain, it is safe to say that my garden entered Spring looking far from its best. It looked tired, messy, the patio was full of weeds, and the plants were non-existent. In addition, the patio was covered in broken plastic clothes pegs which had frozen and cracked, and a wrecked goal post that had seen better days. Work was required. Ocean Finance have been asking people what they would do to improve their garden…

Making the most of your garden with a some footie fun
One of the best things about the arrival of Spring is the chance for Joe to play out in the garden, both after school and in the holidays. Joe is most definitely the sort of child who would be described as an ‘outdoorsy’ type, he likes all kinds of sports, running, climbing and riding his scooter. But the thing he loves doing most is playing with a football. The phase ‘football crazy’, may just have been made for him. Garden Plans for Spring
After the cold of Winter, when my garden is left abandoned and unloved, I look forward to getting back outside when Spring comes. We are lucky to have a rather large garden with a large lawn and a double patio area that is great for barbecues and rest and relaxation on warm Summer evenings. This year we will be concentrating on growing some veggies and plants, and will be taking some advice from Suttons Seeds, who have a great range of information and advice on ‘growing your own.’ Enjoying our garden last summer But first up, we…

Replacement Plastic Solutions sorted
The recent storm Desmond caused devastation in Cumbria, but in other parts of the country thousands of pounds worth of damage was also caused. Fence panels were destroyed, gates ripped from their hinges and garden furniture basically written off as they winds pummeled and the incessant rain drove onwards, taking everything in its path with it. One of the items that saw a lot of damage were greenhouses. These are flimsy buildings at the best of times, and many were subject to broken glass and plastic panels. In the past this would’ve meant one thing – you would have to get a new greenhouse, but these days you can find…

Creating a living space in your garden
It has to be said that I have seen a lot of Santa since November began. I have already visited three grotto’s, with another visit to come on Sunday. And while the quality of Santa impersonation can be variable to say the least, the Log Cabins which have doubled as grotto’s and workshops have been pretty impressive, feeling warm, cosy and very festive. But why should Santa have all the fun when it comes to log Cabins? If you have a larger garden, these buildings are actually a great way to add more living space to your home by utilising the outside area. They can be as small or as…
