Forget all my proclamations about hating January. I mean, yes, I hate the post- Christmas malaise, the cold weather, no Christmas decorations, the lack of money and all round depressive nature of the month, but I had totally forgot about award season, which, for someone who would like to spend every day in a ballgown, more diamonds than Harry Winston and Jimmy Choo glitter sandals, is by far the best time of the year. Golden Globes Great Gowns
Awards season started properly last night with the Golden Globes, which saw all the beautiful people out in force on the red carpet. The Golden Globes is always a seriously glamorous night, second only to the Oscars in terms of importance and star power, so, as to be expected, there were some seriously glamorous looks to be seen on the red carpet, with some colour and texture trends pointing the way to what we may see at the Oscars and Bafta’s. It was the Golden Globes last night, awards season finally started. But, to be fair, It wasn’t a vintage night style wise. So many of my favourite ladies (Amy Adams, Sandra Bullock, Drew Barrymore and many, many more) wore dresses that made me despair and say aloud ‘All those dresses and you chose that.’ Paula Patton came dressed as a giant marshmallow. Lena Dunham picked a Zac Posen dress of a beautiful citrus yellow shade that looked so tight and uncomfortable she seemed unable to stand up straight in it.
