Kate and William arrive in the Solomon Islands
Kate and William left Malaysia yesterday to continue there Far Eastern tour with a trip to the Solomon Islands. This meant more changes of clothing for the Duchess, these with a cool tropical feel. As usual, the Duchess looked effortlessly stunning, and also showed that she is not adverse to a wardrobe change at the last minute. Kate arrived in the Solomon Islands in a dress that was sure to excite fashion fans all over the UK. The choice of Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders was one that Kate watchers had been hoping she would make for some time, a hot designer known for his fabulous use of colour and print.…

New Look sorts your holiday packing
Holiday packing – not that much fun is it? Trying to sort outfits for each day, every few minutes getting those suitcase scales out in order to check you’ve not exceeded the baggage allowance (which for some airlines is now as low as 15 kilograms). Well, what if I said that with some savvy buys you could get away with taking a capsule wardrobe of just 20 pieces. That’s right, 20 pieces. I’m taking a leaf from Gok Wan’s book and choosing pieces that can multi functional and can be mixed and matched to create a range of different outfits. You can get all the pieces featured here from…

A Kate Middleton Week – Part 2
A few days later than planned, here is the second part of my Kate Middleton weekly round-up. Kate’s final two outfits of her busy week showed both her formal, and her casual style. First up is Kate in familiar style by a familiar designer. For her first trip to Scotland since becoming Countess of Strathearn, Kate opted for a very pretty, classic coat dress by another designer who is proving to be quite a favourite with the Duchess, Emilia Wickstead. This 1950s look is becoming a bit of a trademark for the Duchess, with the nipped in waistband and full skirt, but I must admit what I loved most about…

Anyone for Tennis? Stylish Inspiration from House of Fraser
Wimbledon fortnight has started, and so for two weeks we all get really interested in tennis, albeit fairly briefly. There’s just something about SW19, with its perfect whites, strawberries and champers, Pimms, and the chance that you might spot a Middleton, that holds us all in thrall. And then, of course, there’s the fashion. Because whether you are attending the tournament, playing on centre court or just watching in your living room, tennis is a seriously stylish sport. House of Fraser are currently taping into the trend with crisp blazers from Ralph Lauren, neat shorts from Warehouse and Ted Baker and perfect white loafers from Bertie. Add in some super…

The ever recycling Duchess of Cambridge
As an avid Duchess of Cambridge watcher, I am totally obsessed with her wardrobe. But more and more lately, I am having instances of deja vu, as Kate recycles her outfits over and over again. And I have been struck by a thought. This recycling is not just about Kate being frugal, or making that wardrobe earn its keep. This is also about everyone knowing that Kate is thrifty, everyone recognising that in this time of economic hardship, the Duchess is trying hard not to flaunt her extravagance. Kate is not the first Royal to recycle her outfits. The Queen and Princess Anne have both recycled outfits for years, the…
