The Queen of Style
I was asked to speak on my local Radio station,BBC Radio WM, yesterday, about our Queen. In particular, I was asked to speak about her style, her designers and her clothes. Because, although she may not be the name you immediately think of when discussing stylish royals, the Queen is undoubtedly one very stylish lady, perfectly able to set trends, and one whose 1950s wardrobe was full of the most beautiful outfits that continue to inspire today. The first really iconic dress worn by our Queen was the wedding dress she wore to her 1947 wedding to Prince Philip. Designed by Norman Hartnell, this was a stunning blend of wedding…

Kate and Pippa’s Stylish Spring Weekend
This weekend saw the sun come back to raise all our spirits, and it proved to be another stylish weekend for the Middleton sisters, who showed us great ways to wear bold colour and pretty pastels. Whilst Kate was seen in a beautiful new dress from Emilia Wickstead, Pippa was rocking the same Issa dress that Kate wore for the engagement announcement in a gorgeous raspberry shade, showing that the Duchess isn’t the only person who retrieves things from the back of her wardrobe. Kate’s beautiful dress was from Emilia Wickstead, well-known for designing many aristocratic wedding dresses. In a very soft powder pink shade, this showed that the trend for…

Coachella – full of celebrity style
Coachella always offers the best of festival style. Celebrities turn out in their droves to the Californian festival where the sun (nearly) always shines. This year has been no exception, with Emma Roberts, Kate Bosworth, Emma Watson, Poppy Delavigne and Tali Lennox amongst the celebs soaking up the likes of Noel Gallagher and the High Flying Birds and Arctic Monkeys. Here are some of the best festival looks on display, and they don’t include a strangely dressed Katy Perry, or the hippy travesty that was Paris Hilton. Diane Kruger always makes festival dressing seem so easy. A simple shirt dressed teamed with classic desert boots and a tan leather cross…

Kate Middleton’s 1950s styling
The public engagements are coming in thick and fast for the Duchess of Cambridge right now. The end of last week saw two more appearances, with Kate visiting the Dulwich gallery, and then inspecting the Irish Guards on St Patrick’s Day. And I noticed that on these two occasions, Kate was styled in a way that evoked images of the New Look looking distinctly 1950s. Is Kate now taking her sartorial cues from Grace Kelly? At the Dulwich Gallery Kate wore another dress from Orla Kiely. This was a dark grey wool dress with pretty black applique flower detailing on the neckline. In terms of styling this was pure 50s, nipped…

It’s LK Bennett again for Duchess Kate..and it’s all about the peplum.
The Queen and the Duchess of Cambridge made a visit to Leicester today, and, as usual, all eyes were on the Duchess or, more specifically, what she was wearing. Kate returned to a stunning high street dress and jacket from one of her favourite sources, LK Bennett. The dress was the teal version of the Davina dress which she teamed with the Jude belted jacket and a neat little hat from John Lock. This has to be one of my favourite looks that Kate has worn since the Royal wedding. The silhouette of this look is so on trend with the peplum effect of the jacket, and the whole outfit…
