Floral Gifts for Christmas
[affilinet_performance_ad size=468×60] Flowers make a beautiful and thoughtful gift at any time of the year, but they are even more special at Christmas time. Traditional Christmas blooms like Poinsettas are both lovely to look at and are a nod to tradition, whilst red flowers of any description bring the colour of Christmas into your homes. Flowers are, of course, a good present to send across the miles, they can be ordered in one location and then sent to another, and, if you choose wisely, they will last the whole of the 12 days of Christmas and will see in the New Year too. Bloom Magic Flowers are based in Ireland…

#FanDayFriday (on a Monday!) Vintage Dresses
My #FanDayFriday post is a few days late. It was my wedding anniversary on the 6th and my hubby took me away for a lovely long weekend in Lincoln, so today I am catching up, and I’m actually taking inspiration from one of the things that made my weekend so perfect – shopping for vintage dresses. I have a real love for vintage clothes, and trying to find lovely pieces from the past is something I really enjoy. I don’t have a particular decade that I prefer, I look at the individual piece rather than bothering with the time frame, but I do have quite a few 1970s dresses, and…

Where to find vintage fashion and accessories
Vintage fashion, and shopping for vintage fashion, just happen to be two of my favourite pastimes. This post is dedicated to sharing some of the best places for finding vintage fashion, along with sharing some of my favourite vintage pieces. Where to shop for Vintage Charity Shops Admittedly, I don’t think charity shops are as good for rich pickings as they were in the past, but many charity shops, for instance, Oxfam, do have areas of their stores that are dedicated to vintage. Charity shops are good because they tend to be cheaper that specialist vintage shops, and yet they can be full of real bargains. I have recently found…

A little late – March Outfits Post
This is a little later than usual, we are well into April, half way through it in fact, and yet I am only just getting around to doing a March outfit post. The problem has been that I went away for the latter part of March, not coming back until we were well into April, and I am now playing that age old game of catch-up. So, apologies for the lateness. March was a fairly quite month due to the fact that I was struggling health wise for so much of it. A combination of sinusitis, which I suffer from dreadfully, and Colitis, meant that some lovely events I was…

Vintage 50s style…without the mothballs
As a lover of vintage clothes, I love nothing more than a trawl around Charity and second hand shops, jumble sales and car boot sales, in order to uncover an original bargain. But I know this is not the case for everyone. Many people are put off by the idea of rumaging through old clothing, especially if it is unwashed, whilst others just don’t like the idea of wearing something that once belonged to a stranger. Luckily, these days, you can get the retro look without actually having to wear vintage pieces. Retro fashion has become a big fashion story in recent years, with brands like Chi Chi London selling…
