Catwalk4Change – Why I’m involved.
If we’re being totally honest, I’m not the perfect person to be strutting my stuff on a catwalk. Not super tall, not amazingly beautiful, a mom who never completed shifted the baby weight and is not all that worried by the fact. But, On the 6th September, walking a catwalk is exactly what I am going to be doing, and all for a very special cause.
Models of Diversity, an internationally famous campaign for diversity within the fashion industry, has joined forces with the gorgeous blogger Edita of Pret-a-reporter, to change the rules of fashion this autumn with CATWALK4CHANGE. On 6th of September an amazing fashion show will kick-start London Fashion Week involving some of the leading UK fashion bloggers and jaw-droppingly gorgeous mature models…and yours truly.
Ladies of all ages, shapes and sizes will showcase couture creations from the most coveted and diverse designers from all over the globe. And, if that is not exciting enough in itself, you can also expect to see some surprise celebrity guests…so watch this space!
Models of Diversity are saying ‘The time has come to make the industry take note: the rules of beauty are there to be broken! CHANGE HAPPENS NOW!’ I really couldn’t agree more, which is why I am proud to be involved in what promises to be a spectacular event.
With all the proceeds from ticket sales and the online auction go to MIND and MACMILLAN, this is also fashion with a conscience, and is sure to be one of the most important event this autumn. Tickets go on sale on 1st July. For all enquiries email info@modelsofdiversity.org
Hope to see you there.x
