December Outfit post – Part 1- Build up to Christmas
Happy New Year to you all! I’m starting the year with the usual outfit round up, this time for the month of December. But, as December has been a very busy and active month, I am going to split December into two posts, with this one being the run up to Christmas, which was filled with parties, panto’s and all around good living.
Party season meant some new pieces added to my wardrobe, and a dip into my sparkly wardrobe currently housed in my son Joe’s room. New pieces include the Untold dress from House of Fraser, which is probably the shortest thing I had worn in years, and the River Island Bardot top which was an early Christmas present from the hubby. From the wardrobe came the gold, glitter tunic that I found at a jumble sale years ago, and often gets worn with leggings – this time I teamed it with coloured skinny jeans.
I often say that if you buy classic pieces you will wear them forever. A case in point is the Bertie 1920s style Mary Janes that I wore for a Christmas party. I got these in a Debenhams Shoe Studio sale a week before I got married – in 2017 I’ll be celebrating my twelfth wedding anniversary. I still love those shoes and still wear them a lot, no danger of them disappearing to a charity shop in 2017. My M&S pull on crushed velvet boots are also around 8 years old, and have been worn a lot this year as velvet has had a style moment – they are certainly perfect for panto season as they have just a touch of principal boy style about them.

I LOVE your Untold dress by HOF. They sell some gorgeous things, I’m always in the Cardiff branch. I agree with you about classic clothes though, they never go out of fashion
