Duchess style continues to rule

So it is finally official, the news that all fashion lovers already knew, Duchess Kate is great for the fashion economy. As well as helping companies like Reiss to show huge profits thanks to her patronage of their brands, Kate has helped dresses, fascinators and nude coloured tights to become much sought after items and has guaranteed an instant sell out of any item she wears, or is reported to have bought.

This week  Kate took a shopping trip to Chelsea’s Kings Road and visited boutique Anonymous by Ross+Bute. She made the most of the sales by purchasing this purple jewel collared v neck top, reduced to £84.50. Of course, with the news that Kate had got this jumper, an instant online sellout followed, but you can still create the look for yourself by getting the jewelled collar, which has added versatility, you can add it to any top or jumper to create a new look.

But it’s not just the clothes that Kate is buying that show signs of the Kate effect. More and more companies are openly admitting the influence of the stylish Duchess.M&Co launched the cross front dress on Twitter saying it was a Middleton style dress. It is  definitely reminiscent of the Shola dress, and is just the sort of stylish, elegant look we expect to see from the Duchess.  I also think this really pretty blue lace top, in the wonderfully named Yves Blue, is another Kate influenced look, and one I’m adding to my shopping list.

Another store featuring some beautiful Kate inspiration is Coast. The centrepiece to the new collection is the exquisite Cora Lace wedding dress, which is clearly influenced by the Sarah Burton wedding dress, along with a touch of Grace Kelly for good measure. Coast also has the Erdum influenced Polly lace dress which is just gorgeous, perfect for wedding season.

If your pick of the Royal wedding was the beautiful evening dress, you can now get a fantastic replica of this dress for less than £100. Light-in-the-box have created a stunning version, which would make a fantastic wedding dress in its own right, or could be a princess for a night prom dress.

Middleton inspired lace is still everywhere, from haute couture to High Street. You can pick up lots of lace bargains in the end of season sales, and as lace is a style classic, these are a good buy. My favourite lace item is this pretty blue skirt from Lavish Alice which I think is so transitional. Wear it with tights now, then sandals and a simple vest once the weather improves.
