Floral Embellished Skater Dress from Lovedrobe

There are some dresses that make you feel like a princess when you wear them. Really beautiful, romantic dresses with embellishment and beading, the sort of pretty floaty gowns that you can see a celebrity wearing for a red carpet event. The floral embellished Skater Dress from Lovedrobe is just one of those dresses. It would be a wonderful pick for a special event – a party, a prom or a wedding, but it is also very easy and comfortable to wear. To put it simply, I adore this dress.

This is a truly beautiful dress. The bodice is heavily embellished with decorative floral beading and sequins in gold and silver, this contrasts beautifully against the nude colour of the dress. The beading also extends to the sleeves, but because the skirt is plain it avoids looking like something from Dynasty – sometimes the worry with heavy beading, when the look you are aiming for is classy not cabaret.

The skirt is a beautifully floaty chiffon, but with a thicker underlayer to give the skirt a slight skater shape. There are also soft pleats coming from the waistband that again help to create an illusion of shape, rather than allowing the dress just to drop. The skirt is knee length on me, preferable to the shorter skater styles in my opinion. (The dress is 40inches in length).

The dress fastens with a zip up the back that leads to a slight V back detail. As the embellishment also continues around to the back of the dress I think you need to keep accessories and jewellery to an absolute minimum. I teamed it with rose gold shoes and although I would love to ditch the tights, the weather just wasn’t warm enough to do this.  I left off all jewellery, and would add a very plain clutch bag to finish this look.

I cannot rave about this dress enough, the style, shape and colour all worked perfectly for me, and I think it proves that skater styles are not just for the teenage market.
