Golden Globes 2025 – Gorgeous Dresses.
The 2025 Golden Globe Awards red carpet was one of the most glitziest and glamorous in recent years. It saw the return of the goddesses, Angelina Jolie, Cate Blanchett, Nicole Kidman and Demi Moore. The emergence of the new superstars, Zendaya and Ariana Grande. The dresses totally fitted the occasion, it was a fabulously, stylish night.
The Golden Globes are always seen as a good indicator of Oscars success, so, in this case, it was a good night for Demi Moore and the film Emilia Perez, but not such a good night for the much nominated Wicked, with none of its lead stars winning in their categories. Best Actress went to Fernanda Torres for her role in ‘I’m Still Here’, with Adrian Brody winning for The Brutalist. Both are fully expected to be favourites when it comes to the Oscars, with the nominees announcement coming at the end of this month, and the ceremony taking place on February 12th.
So, what about those all important dresses then?
Here are my favourite looks from a star studded, Hollywood night.
Zendaya
Let’s be honest, she’d look good in anything, but this is a dress made in heaven. It’s custom Louis Vuitton, with her hair cues coming from Hollywood goddesses like Gene Tierney and Marilyn Monroe. Perfection.
Demi Moore
This stunning Armani dress was definitely be one to win big in. How can Demi be 62! She looked incredible.
Nicole Kidman
This was a stunning look, especially when teamed with a gorgeous 1960’s hairdo. The dress was totally backless, and was designed by Balenciaga.
Angelina Jolie
Always one of my favourites on the red carpet, I loved this Alexander McQueen gown which was both dignified and yet striking and unusual. Angelina is never dull on the red carpet.
Eiza González
Golden dresses were a definite trend on the red carpet, and this Gucci dress, worn by Eiza González, was one of the sleekest and most stylish. You can see more of this trend here.
Kate Hudson
Kate Hudson was another star who looked back to old Hollywood glamour with her beautiful dress, in this case designed by Carolina Herrera.
Ariana Grande
Ariana totally gave off Audrey Hepburn vibes in this exquisite archival Hubert de Givenchy dress from the haute couture spring 1966 collection. We know Givenchy was Audrey’s favourite designer, but this dress also gave off some Bridgerton vibes on social media, splitting opinions. I think it is an absolute wow!
Quinta Brunson
This is a beautiful, streamlined look that is the epitome of chic. The dress is custom Roberto Cavalli and fits Quinta like a glove.
Cristin Milioti
This dress is another highlight, another wow! moment. It is just so Gotham gothic and dramatic, and the styling is perfect. The dress is from Rodarte.
Allison Janney
Navy was another popular colour on the red carpet, and I loved this beautiful, elegant look worn by Allison Janney. The dress is from Christian Siriano.
Jordana Brewster
This Naeem Khan long-sleeved red dress was absolutely one of the standout looks on the carpet. It’s simple and chic.
Mindy Kaling
Another golden girl, this time the fabulous Mindy Kaling wearing Ashi Studio couture. This is a dress that needs no adornment.
Cate Blanchett
Much has been made of the fact that Cate Blanchett was rewearing a dress she had previously worn at the Cannes film festival, but when the dress is as perfect as this Louis Vuitton number, why wouldn’t you re wear it!
