Met Gala 2015 – My fave looks

The Met Gala 2015 will go down as one of the most memorable in recent history. The theme this year was ‘China: Through the looking glass; and this gave way to a host of plays on this theme. Unfortunately, for many fashionista’s this meant some sort of poppy display and very questionable eye make-up (I’m talking to you Kris Jenner, and frankly still shuddering at the thought nearly 24hours on.) There was also a lot of flesh on display, as Cher’s fright frocks of the 1980s were resurrected on Beyonce, JLo and Kim Kardashian – all of whom should frankly sack the stylist and put some clothes on.

Fortunately, there were some absolutely stunning looks on display too, and some that will become legendary for the sheer daring interpretation that they gave to the theme. Because, let’s be honest, we probably wouldn’t wear the Crazy World of Arthur Brown Phillip Treacy headdress that SJP wore to the proceedings, but we’re still really glad that she did. Drama, decadence and some stunningly beautiful gowns worn by the world’s most beautiful women is what the Met Ball is all about, and this one had that in spades.

Here are the looks that I loved, albeit for many different reasons.

So there are my key picks. There was a lot of red, beautiful prints, ladies who opted for trousers instead of dresses and SJP wearing a flaming headdress. Clearly a memorable, fashionable night.

Did you have a favourite look from the night? I would love to know your thoughts.
