I am a huge fan of Barbara Hulanicki, since reading her autobiography I was fascinated by her drive and glamour, and the allure of Biba, which even now, almost 40 years since it shut it’s doors, still has the aura of decadence and beauty, and a glamorous mystique which I don’t think can be applied to any other shop or store. Barbara Hulanicki – latest drop for George
The latest collection from Barbara Hulanicki is now in Asda stores and online and is a perfect transitional collection. Again utilising Barbara’s retro style prints so reminiscent of the iconic Biba collections, paired against classic black, this 10 piece range perfectly bridges the wardrobe gap between Winter and early spring by using jersey style fabrics and longer sleeve lengths. The prints are mainly based on geometric designs, with stretched diamonds and ovals being the key designs. Sometimes it feels as if fashion time isn’t moving forwards, but is instead moving backwards.
