L’Occitaine and GlossyBox Pamper shopping event
Last Wednesday beauty fans and bloggers gathered in Birmingham’s Pavilions shopping centre to attend a great beauty event hosted by Provencal beauty brand L’Occitaine, and Glossybox. The event was a chance to see all the new ranges that L’Occitaine has introduced lately, and also to try some of the products, with 15% discount offered on anything you then chose to buy. I’ve been a huge fan of L’Occitaine for a good many years, loving in particular the floral scents and the Almond Oil products, so this event was perfect for me to get the opportunity to see experience some of the products I haven’t used before. One of the collections…

Press Review – The Pirates! In an adventure with Scientists!
Last Thursday I was invited to get my ‘swash’ and ‘buckle’ on with the chance to preview a brand new, and very special exhibition that is invading Birmingham’s ThinkTank this summer. A part of the Thinktank museum has been transformed into the world of ‘The Pirates’, the Academy Award nominated film from Sony Pictures and Aardman Animations, and I was lucky enough to get a peek at what was happening behind the scenes, before the exhibition actually opened. I was very excited by this, but not being an expert on all things ‘Pirate’, I thought it best to call on an expert I know very well, so I also took…

Bodhi Spa Soiree – a night of luxury
There are some invites that you simply cannot ignore. Dinner with George Clooney, a trip to the top of The Shard, anything all expenses paid and involving shopping, the list is full of the sorts of experiences that would linger in the memory forever. And an invitation to a special Spa Soiree with one of my favourite brands, Bodhi, is another experience that you simply could not turn down, even if you were feeling quite poorly. (As I, unfortunately, was last week). Being Bodhi, this was no ordinary Spa evening. Taking place in the plush surroundings of the penthouse of the ‘Staying Cool’ apartments in Birmingham’s Iconic Rotunda building, and…

Selfridges Summer Beauty
Every year, Selfridges Birmingham hosts a hot ticket Summer Beauty event. The year’s event took place on Thursday night, with a theme of Summer holidays and was, as always, simply fabulous. I popped along to the event to enjoy the treats, chat to the brand representatives, and meet up with some of Brum’s lovely bloggers. To tie into the summer theme, there were summery treats on offer. Popcorn and candy floss on traditional carts attracted long queues, whilst the ‘Snow Cones’ – crushed ice, flavoured syrups and vodka, were both addictive and totally delicious. They certainly hit the spot for the Brummie beauty and fashion bloggers. I tried the strawberry,…

AX Paris for a night at the Dinosaurs
You may have noticed that each month I bring you a review of an item from the great plus size range from AX Paris, AX Curve. When I was first approached by AX Paris I was a little unsure about reviewing items from the range, I loved the collection, but wondered whether it would prove to be a little too young for me. I couldn’t have been further from the truth. AX Curve has proved to be gorgeous quality, totally wearable, and something that is versatile enough to span across the age groups. I have become a huge fan. The item I chose to review this month was the long…
