My pick of Clarks new season.

My fave place to shop for shoes has to be Clarks. I get all Joe’s school shoes from there, they literally last until he needs a new size, they are hard-wearing and tough and yet super comfortable too. My hubby is a big fan of the Clarks Originals Desert Boots, having both the suede and leather versions, and basically living in them, especially the leather ones.  As for me, I am a total Clarks Addict, having a huge range of boots, heels and flats from the brand. It really is a brand that I would find no problem recommending to anyone.

I always get excited with the new ranges that hit the stores each season, with Spring/Summer my favourite season for new fashion. This is due to the lovely bright colours and the fact that sandals are back on the fashion menu.  This season, I actually think Clarks surpasses itself in terms of style, design and colour. There are some fabulous girlie shades in the Clarks Originals range, shocking pink, pale blue, and lots of lovely lilac. These are just perfect for teaming with all that pastel lace that was all over the catwalk (you can see some of my fave pastel pieces here). I also look some slightly childlike t-bar sandals, and can so imagine Alexa Chung sporting a pair this summer.

Now is also the perfect time to sort out your summer sandals. There is currently 20% off a whole range of designs, including some gorgeous wedges that would easily cover day to night occasions. I also love the range of flat shoes, including the Henderson Silk. These were such a hit last summer they have re-emerged in a range of gorgeous colours that go from lime to a real classic tan design.

What would be your choice?

Reviewed – Clarks Azizi Immy in Black Suede

There used to be many words you could use to describe Clarks shoes. Quality would be one apt word, sensible would be another. Practical was another perfect term to describe Clarks footwear. But fashion- forward? Never. But in recent seasons this has become the perfect term to describe shoes that retain all the quality and comfort that you expect from this brand, but with a gorgeous, fashionable edge. And no shoe embodies this better than the Azizi Immy.

I was given a sneak preview of Clarks new range before Christmas, and asked if I would be interested in reviewing a pair of shoes. My eyes were instantly drawn to the Azizi Immy. Metallic heels, black suede and with studded detail, these are a quite simply a total beauty of a pair of shoes, the sort that can easily take you from office and meetings, to an evening out.

The Azizi Immy comes in two shades, mushroom suede and black suede. I opted for black suede as I think this is the classic option, and that every woman needs a really smart pair of black heels in the wardrobe. I think I made the perfect choice, the Azizi Immy’s are a pair of shoes that I will wear and wear. They have a fabulously high heel, but one that is comfortable for everyday wear due to the thickness of the heel and the island platform on the front of the shoe. The softwear layer inside the shoe gives the impression of walking on a cushion of air, again adding to the comfort levels if you intend to wear this shoe to work.

The black and gold colour way of this shoe makes it easy to team with so many outfit – I think the camel coat is a great match. The studding detail and the bow on the front make the shoes really attractive, and certainly smart and dressy enough for an evening out.

DSCN5990The one thing I would say in terms of comfort is that the shoes do have a higher back than a normal heeled shoe. This can take a little bit of getting used to, but this is a minor niggle rather than a major headache.

I really love my Azizi Immy’s, which are just so stylish that you wouldn’t expect them to be so comfortable too. A double bonus.

Reviewed – Clarks Kendra Accent in black suede

Clarks have this week started a very special boots promotion, with up to 50% off selected styles. I was lucky enough to be asked if I would like to review a pair, and being both a huge fan of Clarks, and a complete boot addict, of course I said yes. The pair that I chose was the Kendra Accent in black suede. I have to say that these are a seriously smart and sexy pair of boots that I just love wearing.

The Kendra Accent are just the sort of boots that I love. By this I mean they have a heel, but also a platform that makes them feel lower and more comfortable. In winter I tend to wear boots almost every day, but like to wear them with skirts and dresses, and this style looks great with dresses as well as paired with jeans. The suede gives them a more luxurious feel, this makes them perfect for wearing with a shift dress for a more evening look, whilst the double zip details makes them dressy – the silver making a lovely contrast against the black suede.

Love the side zips.

I wore these boots with a smart/casual outfit for a day of work and visiting family. This day involved two school runs, both with ten minute walks, so the boots were given a good test for comfort. They passed with flying colours. The softer cushioning on the insoles means that your feet are saved from the blisters that often accompany new shoes. The heel is a comfortable height and with the platform I wasn’t left with the achy feet that can sometimes be the result of a day spent in heels.

The Kendra Accent boots currently have 20% off, and also come in a fabulous wine suede (also with the discount) which is great if you have had enough of black boots.
